Tom Bradshaw (footballer, Born 1879)
Thomas Dickinson Bradshaw (15 March 1879 – after 1913) was an English professional footballer. He played for several Football League clubs, but never spent more than two years at any of them. Career After starting out with Lostock Hall in the late 1890s, Hambleton-born Bradshaw signed for Preston North End in 1896, but did not make any League appearances for ''the Lilywhites''. He joined their arch-rivals Blackpool shortly thereafter, and went on to make seventeen League appearances for ''the Seasiders'', scoring five goals. Equally-short spells followed at Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, Leicester Fosse and New Brighton Tower. His journeyman career continued with Swindon Town and Reading, before a return to Preston North End in 1902. Still without a League appearance for the Deepdale club, he moved on to Wellingborough, Southport Central, Earlestown, Accrington Stanley, another spell with Leicester Fosse, Rossendale United and, finally, Glossop. Hambleton, Lancashire
Hambleton is a village and civil parish in the English county of Lancashire. It is situated on a coastal plain called the Fylde and in an area east of the River Wyre known locally as Over Wyre. Hambleton lies approximately north-east of its post town, Poulton-le-Fylde, and about north-east of the seaside resort of Blackpool. In the 2001 United Kingdom census, the parish had a population of 2,678, increasing to 2,744 at the 2011 census. Edgar Chadwick
Edgar Wallace Chadwick (14 June 1869 – 14 February 1942) was a left-sided footballer who had a long and distinguished career with Everton during the 1890s. He was also the national coach for the Netherlands from 1908 to 1913. His cousin, Arthur Chadwick, also played for England and Southampton, while another cousin, Albert Chadwick, played for Everton. Playing career Early career Born in Blackburn, he started his career at 15 with Little Dots FC, before signing as a professional with Blackburn Olympic in 1886. Rossendale United Football Club was a semi-professional football club based in the village of Newchurch within the Rossendale borough of Lancashire, England. The club was founded in 1898. Deepdale
Deepdale is a football stadium in the Deepdale area of Preston, England, the home of Preston North End. Deepdale is "widely recognised as being the oldest 'continuously used' football stadium in the world, though this is contested". A journeyman, journeywoman, or journeyperson is a worker, skilled in a given building trade or craft, who has successfully completed an official apprenticeship qualification. Journeymen are considered competent and authorized to work in that field as a fully qualified employee. They earn their license by education, supervised experience and examination. New Brighton Tower
New Brighton Tower was a steel lattice observation tower at New Brighton in the town of Wallasey, Cheshire (now in the Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside), England. It stood high, and was the tallest building in Great Britain when it opened some time between 1898 and 1900. Neglected during the First World War and requiring renovation the owners could not afford, dismantling of the tower began in 1919, and the metal was sold for scrap. The building at its base, housing the Tower Ballroom, continued in use until damaged by fire in 1969. The tower was set in large grounds, which included a boating lake, a funfair, gardens, and a sports ground. The sports ground housed, at different times, a football team, an athletics track and a motorcycle speedway track. Leicester Fosse
