Tindastóll (men's Basketball)
The Tindastóll men's basketball team, commonly known as Tindastóll, is the men's basketball department of the Ungmennafélagið Tindastóll sport club. It is based in Sauðárkrókur, Iceland. As of the 2018–19 season it played in Úrvalsdeild karla. In 2015 and 2018, it was the runner up to the Icelandic national championship. On January 13, 2018, the club won its first major title when it beat KR in the Icelandic Basketball Cup finals. On 30 September 2018, Tindastóll defeated KR in the Icelandic Super Cup, 103-72. On 18 May 2023, Tindastóll won its first national championship after defeating Valur 3-2 in a finals rematch from 2022. Úrvalsdeild Karla (basketball)
Úrvalsdeild karla (English: Men's Premier League), also known as Bónus deild karla for sponsorship reasons, is the highest men's professional basketball competition among clubs in Iceland, where play determines the national champion. It is organized by the Icelandic Basketball Federation (). The season consists of a home-and-away schedule of 22 games, followed by an eight-team playoff round. Quarterfinals, semifinals and finals series are best-of-five. Antonio Kurtis Hester (born May 22, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Terrafirma Dyip of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). In 2014, he won the Peruvian championship with Real Club de Lima and in 2018, he won the Icelandic Basketball Cup with Tindastóll. Kristinn Geir Friðriksson (born 23 December 1971) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach. Keyshawn Woods (born January 28, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He played collegiately for Charlotte, Wake Forest and Ohio State. In 2023, he won the Icelandic championship with Tindastóll and was named the Playoffs MVP. College career Woods averaged 8.4 points per game as a freshman at Charlotte. Kári Marísson
Kári Marísson (born 20 November 1951) is an Icelandic former multi-sport athlete and basketball coach. Jasmin Perković
Jasmin Perković (born 25 December 1980) is a Croatian basketball player. A veteran of more than two decades, he played in the EuroLeague, the Greek Basket League and the Italian Lega Basket Serie A over the course of his career. Helgi Rafn Viggósson (born 14 June 1983) is an Icelandic former basketball player. Known for his intensity, he spent his entire career with Tindastóll where he won the Icelandic championship in 2023 and the Icelandic Cup in 2018. Eyjólfur Gjafar Sverrisson (born 3 August 1968) is an Icelandic former footballer and former coach of the Iceland national team. He is the father of Hólmar Örn Eyjólfsson, also a professional footballer. Darrel Keith Lewis is an American and Icelandic professional basketball player who last played for Þór Akureyri in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla.
