Heisman Trophy
The Heisman Memorial Trophy ( ; also known simply as the Heisman) is awarded annually since 1935 to the top player in college football. It is considered the most prestigious award in the sport and is presented by the Heisman Trophy Trust following the regular season in December. The most recent List of Heisman Trophy winners, winner is former Colorado Buffaloes football, Colorado Buffaloes cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter. The award was created by the Downtown Athletic Club to recognize "the most valuable college football player east of the Mississippi River, Mississippi" and was first awarded to University of Chicago halfback Jay Berwanger. Colorado's 8th Congressional District
Colorado's 8th congressional district is a new district in the United States House of Representatives that was apportioned after the 2020 United States census. The first congressional seat to be added to Colorado's congressional districts, Colorado's congressional delegation since 2001, the 8th district was drawn before the 2022 United States House of Representatives elections, 2022 elections. The district was drawn by the Colorado Independent Redistricting Commission and approved in an 11–1 vote on September 28, 2021, before being approved unanimously by the Colorado Supreme Court on November 1, 2021. It is currently represented by Republican Party (United States), Republican Gabe Evans. The district is one of seven with a Cook Partisan Voting Index of EVEN, meaning that the district votes almost identically to the national electorate. Timothy Gabriel Joseph Evans (born July 28, 1986) is an American politician, former law enforcement officer, and former U.S. Army officer serving as the U.S. representative for Colorado's 8th congressional district since 2025. A member of the Republican Party, his district includes parts of Weld and Adams counties including the communities of Brighton, Lochbuie, Fort Lupton, Todd Creek, and Platteville. Evans defeated incumbent Democrat congresswoman Yadira Caraveo in the 2024 election for Colorado's 8th congressional district. Colorado's 5th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Colorado. The district lies in the center of the state and comprises Colorado Springs and its suburbs including Cimarron Hills and Fort Carson. The district is currently represented by Republican Jeff Crank. Historically one of the most Republican districts in Colorado, redistricting and growing Democratic strength in Colorado Springs and suburbs such as Cimarron Hills, Fountain, and Security-Widefield have shifted the district strongly to the left. However it is still a moderately Republican-leaning district with a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+5. Jeffrey George Crank (born January 28, 1967) is an American politician and radio show host currently serving as the U.S. representative for Colorado's 5th congressional district since 2025. Early life, education, and career Crank was born in Pueblo, Colorado in 1967 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Colorado State University. He hosted a talk radio show on KVOR-AM. From 1991 to 1998, he worked as a congressional staffer for Representative Joel Hefley, being a Legislative Assistant until being promoted as administrative director in April 1995. Colorado's 3rd Congressional District
Colorado's 3rd congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Colorado. It takes in most of the rural Western Slope in the state's western third portion, with a wing in the south taking in some of the southern portions of the Eastern Plains. It includes the cities of Grand Junction, Montrose, Durango, Aspen, Glenwood Springs, and Pueblo. The district has been represented by Republican Jeff Hurd since 2025. The district was represented from 1987 to 1993 by Ben Nighthorse Campbell before he ran for the U.S. Senate and switched parties from Democratic to Republican. Jeffrey Stephen Hurd (born August 15, 1979) is an American politician and lawyer from Colorado. A Republican, he is the member for in the United States House of Representatives. Early life and career Hurd is the oldest of three sons. He was raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. His father was a psychologist who counseled low-income families. His mother died of cancer while he was in high school. Hurd graduated from Grand Junction High School and earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. After college, he worked for the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce and then attended the University of Denver Law School, where he earned a Juris Doctor.
