Timeless Journey
''Timeless Journey'' is the fifteenth studio album by American singer Patti LaBelle. Her first release with Def Soul Classics (an R&B magnet of Def Jam Recordings), it was released on May 4, 2004 in the United States. One of her most commercially successful albums, it reached number five on the US ''Billboard'' Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, also hitting the top 20 on the ''Billboard'' 200. ''Timeless Journey'' produced the singles "New Day" and "2 Steps Away". Background By 2002, Patti LaBelle had been with MCA Records for seventeen years. The label had helped to increase LaBelle's popularity with both pop and R&B audiences resulting in 2 platinum album and four subsequent gold-selling follow-ups. Patricia Louise Holte (born May 24, 1944), known professionally as Patti LaBelle, is an American R&B singer, actress and businesswoman. LaBelle is referred to as the " Godmother of Soul". Miri Ben-Ari ( he, מירי בן-ארי; born December 4, 1978) is an American–Israeli musician, producer, and humanitarian, known as "the hip-hop violinist". Life and career Ben-Ari was born in Tel Aviv District, Israel. She grew up playing classical music; she started training at age 5 and at age 12, she was presented with a violin by Isaac Stern. During her mandatory military service, she served playing for the Israel Defense Forces Orchestra. Mary Brown is an American singer-songwriter best known for co-writing Destiny's Child "No, No, No (Destiny's Child song), No, No, No", as well as Jaheim's "Fabulous (Jaheim song), Fabulous". Brown was originally a member of girl-group trio Abstrac, signed to Reprise Records in the 1980s, which evolved into New jack swing, new jack swing duo M&M signed to Atlantic Records in 1990 as a result of shifting group membership. Floetry
Floetry were an English R&B duo comprising Marsha Ambrosius ("The Songstress") and Natalie Stewart ("The Floacist"). The group recorded two studio albums and one live album and sold over 1,500,000 records worldwide. Formed in 1997 Floetry started on the performance poetry stage.
