Time Of Orchids
Time of Orchids was an American experimental rock band based in New York City. Founded in 1999 and disbanded in 2007, Time of Orchids was led by frontman and composer Chuck Stern. History Time of Orchids' 2001 debut, ''Melonwhisper'', included Chuck Stern on vocals and synths, Charlie Looker and Will Redmond on guitar and vocals, bassist Jesse Krakow, and drummer Kim Abrams, with a guest performance from jazz pianist Marilyn Crispell. For the band's second and third albums, ''Much Too Much Fun'' (2003) and ''Early As Seen in Pace'' (Epicene, 2004), Stern played with Krakow, Abrams, and guitarist-vocalist Eric Fitzgerald; the earlier release featured guest vocals from Kate Pierson of The B-52's. The lineup for Time of Orchids' remaining full-length releases was Stern, Krakow, Fitzgerald, and drummer David Bodie. Julee Ann Cruise (December 1, 1956 – June 9, 2022) was an American singer and actress, known for her collaborations with composer Angelo Badalamenti and film director David Lynch in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She released four albums beginning with 1989's '' Floating into the Night''. Cruise is best known for her 1989 single " Falling"; an instrumental version was used as the theme song for the television series ''Twin Peaks'' in which she appeared in a recurring role as a roadhouse singer. Aquarius Records was an independent record label based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. History Aquarius Records was founded in 1969. The first president was Terry Flood and the other founding owners were Donald Tarlton, Bob Lemm, Dan Lazare and Jack Lazare. The label was initially distributed by London Records of Canada. Among the first acts signed to the label was the Halifax band April Wine, who had also worked with Much Productions. Other artists developed by Aquarius during their first decade included Montreal's Walter Rossi and a rock band from Windsor, Ontario called Teaze. Relapse Records is an American independent record label based in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania. It was founded by Matthew F. Jacobson in 1990. The label features many grindcore, death metal, metalcore and sludge metal artists. History The label was started by Matthew F. Jacobson in August 1990 in his parents' basement in Aurora, Colorado. The first two releases on the label were 7-inch singles by the bands Velcro Overdose and Face of Decline, Apparition 7" came next R003closely followed by three death metal bands that would become among the biggest on the label, Deceased, Suffocation, and Incantation. After this, Jacobson became acquainted with William Yurkiewicz Jr, who became his partner in the record label.
