TigerSharks
''TigerSharks'' is an American animated series, animated children's television series developed by Rankin/Bass and distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures in 1987. The series involved a team of heroes that could transform into amalgams of human and Marine biology, marine animals and resembled the series ''ThunderCats (1985 TV series), ThunderCats'' and ''SilverHawks'', also developed by Rankin/Bass. Production and development Rankin/Bass followed up their successful ''ThunderCats (1985 TV series), ThunderCats'' and ''SilverHawks'' series with this series about a team of powered up man/marine form hybrids called the "TigerSharks". The Comic Strip (TV Series)
''The Comic Strip'' is an American animated series that features four rotating cartoon segments: ''The Mini-Monsters'', ''Street Frogs'', ''Karate Kat'' and ''TigerSharks''. The 90-minute series ran in first-run syndication during the 1987 season. This was the last TV series produced by Rankin/Bass Productions, and distributed by Lorimar-Telepictures, before Rankin/Bass Partners dissolved in 2001. Segments Two segments were shown on each broadcast where they each ran for about 10 minutes. The four rotating segments offered were: The Mini-Monsters A segment where normal human twin siblings Sherman (voiced by Seth Green) and Melissa Baxter find themselves in for a surprise when they are sent to summer camp for one year by their overwhelmed parents. Earl Hammond
Erwin Saul Hamburger (June 17, 1921 – May 19, 2002), known professionally as Earl Hammond, was an American actor who appeared in several films and television series. He was best known for voicing Mumm-Ra and Jaga in ''ThunderCats'' and Mon*Star in '' SilverHawks''. Early life Earl Hammond was born Erwin Saul Hamburger on June 17, 1921 in New York City, NY — his family moved to Buffalo, NY while he was still a toddler. Earl Hammond began acting in radio at the age of 7, and continued working in that venue throughout his life. In 1938, after graduating from Bennet High School in Buffalo, New York, Hammond began acting in Fred and Ethel Dampier's radio skits on WGR, one of the city's major radio stations. Larry Kenney (born August 5, 1947) is an American voice actor and radio personality. Early life Larry Kenney was born August 5, 1947 in Pekin which is south of Peoria, Illinois, the son of George and Joyce Kenney. He has a brother, Steven, and a sister, Jody. He graduated from Pekin Community High School in Pekin. He attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, northwest of Springfield, Illinois but did not graduate. Career In 1963, Kenney began his radio career at the age of 15 as a disc jockey at WIRL in Peoria. ''ThunderCats'' is an American animated science fantasy television series produced by Rankin/Bass Animated Entertainment and Leisure Concepts. It debuted in 1985, based on the characters created by Tobin Wolf. The series, for which Leonard Starr was the head writer, follows the adventures of a group of catlike humanoid aliens. The animation for the episodes was provided by the Japanese studio Pacific Animation Corporation, with Masaki Iizuka as production manager. The studio was acquired in 1989 to form Walt Disney Animation Japan. Season 1 of the show aired in 1985, consisting of 65 episodes. Rankin/Bass Animated Entertainment (founded and formerly known as Videocraft International, Ltd. and Rankin/Bass Productions, Inc.) was an American production company located in New York City. It was known for its seasonal television specials, usually done in stop motion animation. Rankin/Bass's stop-motion productions are recognizable by their visual style of doll-like characters with spheroid body parts and ubiquitous powdery snow using an animation technique called Animagic.
