Thurlow Park ward was an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, England from 1965 to 2022. It was located in the constituency of Dulwich and West Norwood. It was located towards the south of the borough containing parts of Herne Hill, Tulse Hill (including the Tulse Hill railway station), and West Norwood. Lambeth London Borough Council is the local authority for the London Borough of Lambeth in Greater London, England. It is a London borough council, and one of the 32 in the United Kingdom capital of London. The council meets at Lambeth Town Hall in Brixton. The South Circular Road (formally the A205 and often simply called the South Circular) in south London, England, is a major road that runs from the Woolwich Ferry in the east to the Chiswick Flyover in the west via Eltham, Lee Green, Catford, Forest Hill, Dulwich, Tulse Hill, Clapham Common, Clapham Junction, Wandsworth, Putney, Barnes, Mortlake and Kew Bridge. 2002 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 2 May 2002. The whole council was up for election with boundary changes reducing the number of councillors by one since the last election in 1998. Labour despite having the largest number of votes with 36.6% of the vote, it still lost 13 seats, while the Lib Dems and the Tories gained seats, resulting in Labour losing control of the Council and no party having a majority. 2006 Lambeth London Borough Council Election
Elections to Lambeth London Borough Council were held on 4 May 2006. The whole council was up for election with no boundary changes since the last election in 2002. The Labour party gained control of the council, replacing the Liberal Democrat and Conservative coalition that had run the council since the previous election. The election was notable for the Labour Party managing to win control of the borough despite a marginal fall in its overall percentage share of the vote. Labour taking Lambeth was also against the trend of the 2006 local election body elections which saw Labour lose control of 18 councils with a loss of 319 councillors. Dominic Carman (born 23 August 1961) is a British journalist, writer and Liberal Democrat political activist. Family Dominic Carman was born on 23 August 1961 in Hale, Cheshire. Educated at Manchester Grammar School and Durham University, Carman is the son of barrister George Carman. The 2014 Lambeth Council election was held on 22 May 2014 to elect members of Lambeth Council in Greater London, England. This was on the same day as other local elections. The election saw the Labour Party further increase its majority on the council, winning all but four of the 63 council seats. The South London Botanical Institute (SLBI) is an institution for the popularization of botany. It was founded in 1910 by Allan Octavian Hume, a former civil servant for the British Raj in India. After returning from India to England in 1894, and after giving up ornithology, and turning vegetarian, Hume took an interest in British and European botany, and horticulture, which eventually led him to create the Institute in a large Victorian house in Norwood Road, Tulse Hill, South London, to provide an environment where anyone interested in plants, whether amateur or professional, could meet to develop their knowledge of botany.
