Thung Yai District
Thung Yai ( th, ทุ่งใหญ่, ) is the westernmost district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. History Tambon Ku Rae was separated from Thung Song district and made the minor district (''king amphoe'') Ku Rae in 1906. When the office was moved to Tambon Tha Yang in 1909, the minor district was renamed following the central tambon name. However, when the government was about to upgrade the minor district, the name Tha Yang was already given to a district of Phetchaburi province. Thus, when the minor district was upgraded to a full district on 1 April 1961, it was named Thung Yai after one of the tambon of the district. Chawang District
Chawang ( th, ฉวาง, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Nakhon Si Thammarat province, southern Thailand. Geography Neighboring districts are (from the northeast clockwise): Phipun, Lan Saka, Chang Klang, Na Bon, Thung Yai, and Tham Phannara of Nakhon Si Thammarat; Wiang Sa of Surat Thani province. The east of the district is part of the Khao Luang National Park. Thesaban Tambon
Thesaban ( th, เทศบาล, , ) are the municipalities of Thailand. There are three levels of municipalities: city, town, and sub-district. Bangkok and Pattaya are special municipal entities not included in the ''thesaban'' system. The municipalities assume some of the responsibilities which are assigned to the districts ('' amphoe'') or communes (''tambon'') for non-municipal (rural) areas. Muban
Muban ( th, หมู่บ้าน; , ) is the lowest administrative sub-division of Thailand. Usually translated as 'village' and sometimes as ' hamlet', they are a subdivision of a tambon (subdistrict). , there were 74,944 administrative mubans in Thailand. As of the 1990 census, the average village consisted of 144 households or 746 persons. Tapi River, Thailand
The Tapi (or Tapee) river ( th, แม่น้ำตาปี, , ) is the longest river in southern Thailand. The river originates at Khao Luang mountain in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, and empties into the Gulf of Thailand at Bandon Bay near the town of Bandon. It has a length of . Phrasaeng District
Phraseang ( th, พระแสง, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Surat Thani province, Thailand. Geography The district is in the south of the province. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Phanom, Khian Sa, Wiang Sa of Surat Thani Province; Tham Phannara, Thung Yai of Nakhon Si Thammarat province; Chai Buri of Surat Thani Province; Khao Phanom and Plai Phraya of Krabi province. At the boundary to Plai Phraya is the Khlong Phraya Wildlife Sanctuary. Climate History The district was first established in 1896 as part of the Monthon Nakhon Si Thammarat. Lam Thap ( th, ลำทับ, ) is a district (''amphoe'') of Krabi province, southern Thailand. History The minor district (''king amphoe'') Lam Thap was established on 30 June 1984, when the two ''tambons'' Lam Thap and Din Udom were split off from Khlong Thom district. It was upgraded to a full district on 4 November 1993.
