Thrippunithura Terminal is a terminal metro station serving as the southern terminal of the Kochi Metro which was opened on 6 March 2024. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 6 March 2024 and marked the completion of final station of the first phase of the Kochi metro system that starts from Aluva. Thrippunithura or Tripunithura (Malayalam:തൃപ്പൂണിത്തുറ) is a prominent historical and residential region in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. Located about 7 km (4 mi) from the city centre, Tripunithura was the capital of the erstwhile Kingdom of Cochin. The descendants of the Cochin royal family still live here. Aluva Metro Station
Aluva is an elevated metro station serving as the northern terminal of the Kochi Metro. It is located besides the Aluva flyover near the Aluva market and the banks of the Periyar river. Spread over an area of 1.5 lakh square feet, it is Kochi Metro’s second biggest station after Vadakkekota. It was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on 17 June and opened for public on 19 June 2017 as a part of the first stretch of the metro system, between Aluva and Palarivattom.
