''Thriller'' is the sixth studio album by the American singer and songwriter Michael Jackson, released on November 29, 1982, by Epic Records. It was produced by Quincy Jones, who previously worked with Jackson on his album ''Off the Wall'' (1979). With the ongoing backlash against disco music at the time, he moved in a new musical direction, resulting in a mix of pop music, pop, post-disco, rock music, rock, funk, synth-pop, and contemporary R&B, R&B sounds, and darker themes; Jackson wanted to create an album where "every song was a killer". It was released by Epic Records on November 11, 1983 in the United Kingdom and on January 23, 1984, in the United States, as the seventh and final single from his sixth studio album '' Thriller''. "Thriller" is a disco song featuring a repeating synthesizer bassline and lyrics and sound effects evoking horror films. It includes a spoken-word sequence performed by the horror actor Vincent Price which begins at the 6:33 mark on the music video and 4:25 in the album version. Thriller is a viral video featuring the CPDRC Dancing Inmates of a high-security penitentiary. In 2007, the inmates of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC), a maximum security prison in Cebu, the Philippines, imitated the zombie dance featured in the music video of Michael Jackson's " Thriller". The footage, uploaded onto video-sharing website YouTube, became a viral video. The idea behind the dance came from the prison's chief, Byron F. Garcia. Garcia first conceived the idea of exercising as an enjoyable way of keeping the prisoners mentally and physically fit. Music was then added to provide additional motivation. ''Thriller Live'' is a two-and-a-half-hour concert revue celebrating the music of The Jackson 5 and the solo work and life of Michael Jackson. ''Thriller'' was a short-lived comic book series published by DC Comics beginning in November 1983. The series was originally written by Robert Loren Fleming and drawn by Trevor Von Eeden. It was sold only through the direct market. The taglines for the series were, "She has 7 seconds to save the world" and "You can't read it fast enough".
