Three Horses Beer
Three Horses Beer (better known locally as THB) is a pale lager that has been brewed by Star Breweries of Madagascar since 1958. It is the highest-selling beer in Madagascar and has been described as emblematic of the country. THB is sold nationwide and, since 2005, has been exported to such markets as France, Reunion Island, Comoros, and Mayotte. The Malagasy beer is produced at two breweries in Madagascar, the first centrally located in Antsirabe and the other in the northern city of Antsiranana. THB Pilsener, the most common variant of THB, has a light taste and is produced from mostly local barley, corn, and hops. Star Breweries also produces THB Fresh (a shandy with less than 1% alcohol), THB Special (6.2% alcohol), and THB Lite (1% alcohol). Pilsner
Pilsner (also pilsener or simply pils) is a type of pale lager. It takes its name from the Bohemian city of Plzeň (), where the world's first pale lager (now known as Pilsner Urquell) was produced in 1842 by Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Samoëla Rasolofoniaina, better known as Samoëla, is a Malagasy vocalist and composer of contemporary folk fusion and roots music that draws upon musical traditions throughout the island of Madagascar. AmbondronA (band)
AmbondronA is a pop rock band from Madagascar. The band has figured prominently in the Malagasy music scene since 2001. AmbondronA has toured extensively throughout Madagascar, and has given numerous performances throughout the Indian Ocean Islands, France and South Africa. The band has released six albums. In 2012, the members of the band were selected by the United States Embassy in Antananarivo to participate in an International Visitors' Leadership Program on the theme of "Protecting the Environment through Music." Their nomination followed a collaboration with the U.S. Department of State in which AmbondronA filmed a music video at Ranomafana National Park and promoted environmental conservation and green tourism in Madagascar. Jerry Marcoss
Jerry Marcoss is a singer and composer of '' kawitry'', '' mangaliba'' and ''salegy'' music of Madagascar. Born in Antalaha in 1980, Jerry Marcoss is responsible for the national popularization of the ''kawitry'' genre of the northeast coast and has been termed the "King of Kawitry" by the Malagasy press. Since launching his musical career in 2001, Marcoss has released five albums and regularly gives performances across Madagascar, as well as in Europe and throughout the region. He is a high-energy performer and is distinguished by his positive lyrics, which are notably more universally comprehensible than many of his peers who sing in the northeastern coastal dialect of the Malagasy language. Vakinankaratra is a region in central Madagascar. The capital of the region is Antsirabe. Vakinankaratra covers an area of , and had a population of 2,074,358 in 2018. Fianarantsoa is a city (commune urbaine) in south central Madagascar, and is the capital of Haute Matsiatra Region.
