Thomas Myers (13 February 1774 – 21 April 1834) was an English mathematician and geographer. Tom Myers (politician)
Tom Myers (15 February 1872 – 21 December 1949) was a British Labour Party politician. Born in Mirfield, Myers left school at the age of 12 and spent several years working in coal mines and factories in the West Riding of Yorkshire before taking up employment at a glass bottle works. An early supporter of the Labour Party, he was elected to Thornhill Urban District Council in 1904. In 1910 the urban district was absorbed by the municipal borough of Dewsbury, and Myers became a member of Dewsbury Borough Council. At the 1918 general election Myers contested the constituency of Spen Valley for the Labour Party, but failed to unseat the sitting Coalition Liberal Member of Parliament, Sir Thomas Whittaker. Whittaker died in November 1919, and Myers was selected to fight the ensuing by election. Tom Myers (safety)
Tom Myers (born October 24, 1950) is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Syracuse Orange, and was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of 1972 NFL draft. Professional career Myers played for the New Orleans Saints his entire career from 1972-1981 as the team's starting free safety for each of those seasons. In 1978, Myers recorded a 97-yard interception return for touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings, a Saints record. His best season was in 1979 when he was selected to the Pro Bowl and was named on the All-Pro team. As of the 2024 NFL season, Myers is still #2 on the All-Time New Orleans Saints Career Interceptions List. Thomas Welborn Myers (August 13, 1943 – September 3, 2024) was an American professional football player who was a quarterback for two seasons with the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Northwestern Wildcats before being selected by Detroit in the fourth round of the 1965 NFL draft and the Denver Broncos in the 12th round of the 1965 AFL draft. He played for the Lions from 1965–1966. Early life Myers threw 33 touchdown passes as a senior at Troy High School in Troy, Ohio. In his career, he passed for 73 touchdowns total. He made the Ohio State High School All-Stars team following his senior year.
