Thomas Fortescue (1683 – 23 January 1769) was an Irish Member of Parliament. Origins He was descended from Sir Faithful Fortescue (c.1581–1666), a royalist commander during the English Civil War, a member of the Fortescue family of Buckland Filleigh in Devon, descended from Sir John Fortescue (c.1394-1479), Chief Justice of the King's Bench, of Ebrington Manor, Gloucestershire, a younger grandson of the Fortescue family of Whympston in the parish of Modbury in Devon, the earliest Fortescue seat in England. The Irish House of Commons was the lower house of the Parliament of Ireland that existed from 1297 until the end of 1800. The upper house was the Irish House of Lords, House of Lords. Thomas Fortescue, 1st Baron Clermont (9 March 1815 – 29 July 1887) of Ravensdale Park in County Louth, Ireland, was an Irish Whig politician and was the historian of the ancient Fortescue family of 12th century Devonshire origins. Origins He was born on 9 March 1815, the son of Chichester Fortescue (1777–1826) of Dromisken, County Louth, Ireland, by his wife Martha Angel Hobson, a daughter of Samuel Meade Hobson of Muchridge House, County Cork, Ireland, a barrister. His younger brother was Chichester Parkinson-Fortescue, 1st Baron Carlingford (1823-1898). He was a descendant of Chichester Fortescue of Dromisken, whose brother William Fortescue was the grandfather of William Fortescue, 1st Earl of Clermont (1722-1806). Sir Arthur Brooke, 1st Baronet
Sir Arthur Brooke, 1st Baronet PC (Ire) (1726 – 7 March 1785) was an Irish baronet and politician. He was the son of Henry Brooke and his wife Lettice Burton, daughter of Benjamin Burton. Brooke was educated at Trinity College Dublin and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1746. He was appointed High Sheriff of Fermanagh in 1752, and became later Governor of County Fermanagh. In 1761, Brooke was elected to the Irish House of Commons for County Fermanagh, a seat he held until 1783. Subsequently, he represented Maryborough until his death in 1785. On 3 January 1764, he was created a baronet, of Colebrooke, in the County of Fermanagh and on 15 May 1770, he was invested to the Privy Council of Ireland. The Baronetcy of Goodricke of Ribston was created in the Baronetage of England by King Charles I on 14 August 1641 for his loyal supporter John Goodricke of Ribston, Yorkshire. James Fortescue (politician)
James Fortescue (15 May 1725 – May 1782) was an Irish politician. He sat in the Irish House of Commons for Dundalk between 1757 and 1760 and County Louth between 1761 and his death. He was also elected for Monaghan in 1776, but chose to continue sitting for Louth. He was appointed to the Irish Privy Council on 7 May 1770.
