Thomas Coyle (rugby League)
Thomas Coyle (born 10 May 1988) is an English rugby league footballer with Hunslet Hawks. He is a scrum half. Coyle was educated at St. John Fisher Catholic High School, Wigan. He signed for the Wigan Warriors from the local amateur team Wigan St Patricks. He moved into the Wigan Academy Under 18s in 2005. Coyle was selected for Lancashire U17s and England U15s and U16s while part of the Wigan scholarship and Academy systems. He was also included in the England U17s squad to take on the touring Australian Institute of Sport in 2005. He signed for Halifax on loan in May, but having failed to impress was released early. Coyle's father, Bernard Coyle, and grandfather, also Bernard Coyle, both played for Wigan at scrum-half in the 1970s and 1940s respectively. Tommy Coyle (footballer)
Thomas Coyle (born 9 January 1959) is a Scottish former professional football midfielder. His brothers Joe and Owen also played professionally. Coyle began his career with non-league Shettleston before signing for Dumbarton in 1978. He established himself in the first team at Boghead Park and, along with Albert Craig, scored in a 2–2 draw with Clyde that ensured Dumbarton promotion to the Scottish Premier Division for the first time. Murder Of George Campbell
Phoebe McWain Campbell (c. 1847 – 20 June 1872) was a Canadian woman who was hanged for the murder of her husband. Campbell had alleged that on the morning of July 15, 1871, in Thorndale, Middlesex County, Ontario, two black-faced men broke into George and Phoebe's log cabin home and brutally hacked George to death with an axe because he refused to hand over some money. They had attempted to use a gun which misfired. During the investigation, six local men were arrested, including Thomas Coyle, who was George's farmhand. Doubt about Phoebe's innocence arose rapidly as she was seen talking with Coyle; she also seemed to have done nothing to help save her husband as he was being murdered and seemed very unemotional following George's funeral. A coroner's autopsy showed that George was murdered by Phoebe and Coyle. "I don't care. I'm innocent and I don't care", Phoebe stated.
