Thomas Owen Clancy
Thomas Owen Clancy is an American academic and historian who specializes in medieval Celtic literature, especially that of Scotland. He did his undergraduate work at New York University, and his Ph.D at the University of Edinburgh. He is currently at the University of Glasgow, where he was appointed Professor of Celtic in 2005. In 2001 and following Professor Dumville's paper in ''Gildas: new approaches'', Clancy argued that St. Ninian was a Northumbrian spin-off of the name ''Uinniau'' (Irish St Finnian), the Irish missionary to whom St. Columba was a disciple, who in Great Britain was associated with Whithorn. Thomas Clancy (11 April 1887 – 23 April 1957) was an Australian rules footballer who played for South Melbourne, Carlton and Collingwood in the Victorian Football League The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football competition in Australia operated by the Australian Football League (AFL) as a second-tier, regional, semi-professional competition. Thomas Francis "King" Clancy (December 2, 1872 – September 28, 1938) was a Canadian football player and coach. He was originally a baseball player before becoming a football player in 1894. He was the coach of the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1904 to 1911, 1913, and 1921 to 1922 (and an assistant in 1919). Tom Clancy (Gaelic Footballer)
Thomas Clancy (born 13 February 1992) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays as a centre-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Clonakilty, County Cork, Clancy first played competitive Gaelic football during his schooling at Clonakilty Community College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of eighteen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2013 championship. Since then Clancy has become a regular member of the starting fifteen. At club level Clancy has won several championship medals with Clonakilty.
