"The Trouble with Women" is the twenty-third episode of the 1969 ITC British television series '' Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)'' starring Mike Pratt, Kenneth Cope and Annette Andre. The episode was first broadcast on 28 February 1970 on ITV. It was directed by Cyril Frankel. Synopsis Jeff is hired by Susan Lang to log her husband's movements. It transpires that she is not all that she appears, and that Jeff is entering a very dangerous situation. Overview With Jeff in danger, Marty attempts to speak with a psychic medium so as to get the police to him. ''Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)'' is a British private detective television series, starring Mike Pratt and Kenneth Cope respectively as the private detectives Jeff Randall and Marty Hopkirk. The series was created by Dennis Spooner and produced by Monty Berman, and was first broadcast in 1969 and 1970. In the United States, it was given the title ''My Partner the Ghost''. ITC Entertainment produced a single series of 26 episodes in 1968 and 1969, which was aired from September 1969 to March 1970. The pilot episode was first broadcast in the United Kingdom on 19 September 1969 by ATV in the Midlands. London Weekend Television broadcast the pilot two days later on 21 September 1969. The series was remade in 2000, starring Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. The show was parodied as "Curtis & Ballard (Deceased)" in the 1996 BBC Radio 4 comedy series ''Fab TV''. Neal Arden
Neal Arden (born Arthur Neal Aiston; 27 December 1909 – 4 June 2014) was an English-born actor and writer who appeared in films, television shows, theatre productions and radio programs. He was born in Fulham, London. In 1928, Arden moved to Southern Rhodesia and served in the British South Africa Police (BSAP). Two years later, he returned to Great Britain to pursue an acting career. His screen debut came in the 1934 film version of '' Princess Charming''. Other films include ''"Pimpernel" Smith'', '' John Wesley'' and '' The Shakedown''. He also worked in television, appearing in series like ''Ivanhoe'' and ''Z-Cars''. Nik Zaran (19 January 1933 – 3 January 2014) was a Vincentian actor. Initially a keen sportsman, he mainly played football and cricket while attending the St. Vincent Grammar School. However, his dream was to become an actor. Aged 19 in 1952, Connell came to England, initially joining the Royal Air Force before going into acting training funded by the RAF. Zaran began his career in 1961, firstly using his birth name before adopting Nik Zaran as his stage name in 1968. Frederick Treves (actor)
Frederick William Treves BEM (29 March 1925 – 30 January 2012) was an English character actor with an extensive repertoire, specialising in avuncular, military and titled types. Early life Treves attended the Nautical College, Pangbourne and in World War II he served in the Merchant Navy. On his first voyage his ship, the refrigerated cargo liner , was part of the Operation Pedestal convoy to Malta. On 13 August 1942 ''Waimarama'' was bombed by a German Junkers Ju 88 aircraft. The ship's deck cargo included containers of aviation spirit that burst into flame. ''Waimarama'' exploded and 83 of her 107 crew were killed. Cadet Treves helped save several of his shipmates, including the only ship's officer to survive the sinking, Third Wireless Officer John Jackson. Paul Maxwell (born Maxim Popovich; November 12, 1921December 19, 1991) was a Canadian actor who worked mostly in British cinema and television, in which he was usually cast as American characters. Arnold Diamond (18 April 1915 – 18 March 1992) was an English character actor, regularly cast in small parts on television. He graduated from RADA in 1936, and his stage work included the RSC, and three years in Agatha Christie's ''The Mousetrap'' in the West End (1954-1957). In a long career, he was cast in a variety of roles, but frequently in 'foreigner' roles, and often as policemen. Indeed, his most remembered role is probably that of Colonel Latignant in the 1960s ITC series '' The Saint'' with Roger Moore.
