The Taming Of The Scoundrel
''Il Bisbetico Domato'' (literally "The Ill-Tempered Man Tamed"; English: ''The Taming of the Scoundrel'') is a 1980 Italian film directed by Franco Castellano and Giuseppe Moccia, credited as Castellano & Pipolo. The plot is loosely inspired by William Shakespeare's ''The Taming of the Shrew''. Synopsis Adriano Celentano plays the part of Elia, a well-to-do and witty farmer who is, however, a somewhat grumpy loner who specifically resists his housekeeper Mamie's efforts to marry him off to a nice girl. One stormy night, however, a beautiful young lady named Lisa is forced to stop at his farmstead because her car has broken down while she was on her way to her fiancé. Intrigued by Elia's personality, she decides to stay and make the grumpy farmer come out of his rough shell, an intention which in time develops into genuine affection. Renato Casaro
Renato Casaro (; born 26 October 1935) is an Italian artist known for his movie posters, which include films like '' My Name Is Nobody'', ''Quadrophenia'', ''Conan the Barbarian'', '' Tenebrae'', '' Octopussy'', ''Never Say Never Again'', '' Rambo: First Blood Part II'' (Int'l Version), '' Red Sonja'' and '' Flesh and Blood''. He is considered one of the most important, influential and innovative Italian film poster artists. He has made hundreds of works dedicated to the cinema, becoming very popular abroad. He has also painted calendars, collectibles, book covers and album covers. Early life Renato Casaro was born on 26 October 1935 in Treviso. His early interest in posters reportedly began with movie advertisements. Franco Castellano
Franco Castellano (20 June 1925 – 28 December 1999) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He wrote for 94 films between 1958 and 1997. He also directed 21 films between 1964 and 1992. Most of the films he co-wrote and co-directed as a part of the Castellano & Pipolo duo. Their 1984 film '' Il ragazzo di campagna'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Giuseppe Moccia
Giuseppe "Pipolo" Moccia (22 June 1933 – 20 August 2006) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He wrote for 96 films between 1958 and 2001. He also directed 21 films between 1964 and 1997. Most of the films he co-wrote and co-directed as a part of the Castellano & Pipolo duo. Their 1984 film ''Il ragazzo di campagna'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. He was born in Viterbo, Italy and died in Rome, Italy. His son, Federico, is a well-known writer and also a screenwriter and director.
