It was established in May 2010 as a regular feature of the ''New York Times'' opinion section, with the goal of providing argument and commentary informed by or with a focus on philosophy. The series, as described on the ''Times'' website "features the writing of contemporary philosophers and other thinkers on issues both timely and timeless." More than a dozen of the essays in the series have been chosen as winners of the American Philosophical Association's public op-ed contests. "The Stone" is a song by American band Ashes Divide and is their debut single from their debut album ''Keep Telling Myself It's Alright'', which was released on April 8, 2008. The music video for the song was released in March. Background "The Stone" is actually derived from a song done by Billy Howerdel during his time in A Perfect Circle. An instrumental named "Army" has many similarities with this song. It was done during demo sessions that yielded material from their first album, ''Mer de Noms''. It apparently wasn't deemed a fit for ''A Perfect Circle'' music, so Billy re-worked it on his own for years until it appeared in this form. Howerdel said he had most of the verses written, but was stuck on the chorus, so he reached out to Johnette Napolitano, singer of Concrete Blonde, who wrote a few lines in the chorus, adding a "maternal" touch to it, according to Howerdel. Issue One is an American nonprofit organization that seeks to reduce the role of money in politics. It aims to increase public awareness of what it views as problems within the present campaign finance system, and to reduce the influence of money in politics through enactment of campaign finance reform. Formation Issue One was formed in October 2014 through the merger of two campaign finance reform organizations: Americans for Campaign Reform and Fund for the Republic. Americans for Campaign Reform, which was formed in 2003, had been focused on issues related to campaigns and elections, including pushing for public funding for federal and state elections. ''The Stone'' is a live album by drummer Milford Graves and bassist Bill Laswell. It was recorded on April 22, 2014, at The Stone in New York City, and was released later that year by M.O.D. Technologies. The album is the duo's second recording, the first being '' Space/Time – Redemption'', recorded in 2013. When asked to describe the experience of playing with Laswell as a rhythm section without a "horn out front," Graves responded: "I guess it's according to what kind of tradition you’re coming from... So-called Western culture, they changed the hierarchy of instrumentation... Some people may think they have to make adjustments, if that's what they came from, a so-called Western concept, where drums are in the background." ''The Stone'' is the debut studio album by Babble, an electronic dance music group that was composed of Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie (formerly of the Thompson Twins), and Keith Fernley. The group changed its name as it changed the outward appearance of its sound, from pop to dub-influenced chill-out. The underlying melodies and the familiar voices of Bailey and Currie still gave a Thompson Twins tone. However, the addition of Quest vocalist Amey St. Cyr (" Take Me Away" and "Tribe"), emcee Q-Tee ("Beautiful"), deep basslines, and loads of spacious effects made it a much more relevant album for the lounge music scene. Promotion of the album was minimal. However, during an interview in ''Classic Pop'' magazine in 2014, Bailey stated the album was influential in the recording of ''Original Soundtracks 1'', an album released in 1995 by U2 and Brian Eno under the pseudonym Passengers.
