''Muggs Presents... The Soul Assassins, Chapter I'' is the first studio album by American hip hop collective Soul Assassins. It was released on March 4, 1997, via Columbia Records. Recording sessions took place at Larrabee Sound Studios and at Ameraycan Studios in Los Angeles, at The Hit Factory, at D&D Studios and at Chung King Studios in New York, and at The Hill. Soul Assassins
Soul Assassins is a hardcore hip hop project of Cypress Hill member and producer DJ Muggs. Each album features a plethora of guest rappers and is primarily produced by Muggs; the second and third studio albums see contributions from other producers such as The Alchemist and DJ Khalil. Soul Assassins is also a marketing brand, with visuals created by chicano artists and friends Estevan Oriol (analogue street photographer) and Mister Cartoon (street artist and tattooer). Goodie Mob was an American hip hop group based in Atlanta, Georgia, consisting of CeeLo Green, Khujo, T-Mo, and Big Gipp. History The group was formed in 1991 by Cameron "Big Gipp" Gipp, Willie " Khujo" Knighton Jr., CeeLo Green (born Thomas Callaway), and Robert "T-Mo" Barnett in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1995, Goodie Mob released their debut album, '' Soul Food'', which was critically acclaimed and certified Gold. The album aired social and political issues such as racism, discrimination, geopolitics, and gentrification. Robert Terrance Barnett (born February 2, 1972), better known by his stage name T-Mo Goodie (or simply T-Mo), is an American rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He is best known for being a member of Southern hip hop quartet Goodie Mob. He is also one-half of the hip hop duo the Lumberjacks (group), Lumberjacks (with fellow Goodie Mob groupmate Khujo), and a member of hip hop collective Dungeon Family. Cameron F. Gipp (born April 28, 1973), better known by his stage name Big Gipp, is an American rapper. He is a member of the Atlanta-based hip hop group Goodie Mob, with whom he has released six studio albums, as well as the duo Ali & Gipp, with whom he has released one. He is known for his slow, drawn-out rapping dialect with political and street-life themed lyrics. Infamous Mobb, also known as IM3, is a hip hop group from Queensbridge, Queens, New York, composed of members Ty Nitty, Twin Gambino aka Big Twin and G.O.D. Part III aka Godfather Part III. They are an integral part of the Queensbridge hip-hop scene, which includes rappers like Nas, Mobb Deep, Cormega, Capone-N-Noreaga, and Tragedy Khadafi. Mobb Deep was an American Hip-hop, hip hop duo formed in Queens, New York (state), New York in 1990.
