"All I Wanna Do" is a song written by Brian Higgins, Stuart McLennan, Tim Powell, and Matt Gray for Australian singer Dannii Minogue's third studio album, ''Girl'' (1997). The song was produced by Higgins and Gray. "All I Wanna Do" marked a significant change in Minogue's career and image, as did her album ''Girl'' from which it was taken. Her image had become highly sexualised, culminating in her nude calendar photo shoot and the suggestive videos and album artwork which accompanied her new releases. This was also the first release on Minogue's new record deal with Warner Bros. Records. It was released as the first single from ''Girl'' on 11 August 1997 and reached the top five in the United Kingdom becoming her first top-five hit. It was produced by Lever & Percy and received a mixed reception from music critics. Released as the fifth single in the second quarter of 1994, it reached the top forty in the United Kingdom. Along with the single " This Is It", the song was chosen to be released in Canada and the US. Alan Jones from ''Music Week'' said, "The title track from Minogue's last MCA album makes a belated appearance. And should radio warm to the Hustler's Convention's housed-up transformations of the track, already big in the clubs, Minogue could net another medium-sized hit." Tom Doyle from ''Smash Hits'' gave the song three out of five, describing it as "the sort of perky pop records that made Kylie famous. It's your typical hands-in-the-air house stuff in which Dannii goes "searching for love" before discovering her "true love story". You get the picture." This Is It (Van McCoy Song)
"This Is It" is a 1976 disco song written by Van McCoy, and performed by American singer and actress Melba Moore for her fifth album of the same name (1976). Background Melba Moore would give credit to her husband/manager Charles Huggins, whom she married in September 1974, with getting her signed to Buddah Records in 1975 — ending a four-year recording studio absence — and with arranging for veteran soul music songwriter/producer Van McCoy to helm Moore's second Buddah album release, which she began recording in January 1976. The recruitment of McCoy to helm Moore's album was essentially due to McCoy's success as a producer of disco records, it being hoped that a disco hit would consolidate the somewhat nebulous success Moore had to that point experienced as a recording artist: (Melba Moore quote:)"I just couldn't ignore the mpactthat disco was having on music". The album's disco-oriented title track was released in March 1976 and became a discothèque favorite: while the ... Show You The Way To Go
"Show You the Way to Go" is a song written by Gamble and Huff and recorded by the Jacksons for their 1976 CBS debut album, ''The Jacksons''. Released as a single in early 1977, it was the only number-one song for the group in the UK. It was later covered by Dannii Minogue in 1992. The Jacksons version "Show You the Way to Go" became a hit for the Jacksons, (formerly known as "The Jackson 5") after their departure from Motown nearly two years prior. The move made it easy for the brothers to write and produce their own material. They spent a couple of years under the production and direction of Gamble and Huff and were signed to Philadelphia International Records. This was one of the songs that the producers wrote for the brothers. This song was released after " Enjoy Yourself," released a year earlier. Michael sang lead and background vocals. Marlon Jackson, and the rest of the brothers (Randy having replaced Jermaine) had backup parts. The song reached No. 6 US ''Billboard ...
