Ace Augustine
Ace Augustine was an American metalcore band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The band started making music in 2008, and their membership throughout their tenure has been vocalists, Kyle Irwin, Ben Moser, and Ryan Feister, guitarists, Brian Fellenbaum, Tyler Chadwick, Alex Bolton, and Spencer Barnett, bassist, Cody Owen, drummers, Doug Fellenbaum and Josh Hess, and keyboardist, Brandon Klinger. The band released an independently made extended play, ''The Glory of Trumpets'', in 2009. Their first studio album, ''The Absolute'', was released by Strike First Records, in 2011. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Ace Augustine worked with Alex Koppenheffer, in the production of this album. Critical reception Awarding the album three and a half stars for Jesus Freak Hideout, Wayne Reimer states, "''The Absolute'' is by no means flawless, but it's honest and shows real potential." Michael Weaver, rating the album two and a half stars at Jesus Freak Hideout, says, "the release seems to feature a band suffering from an identity crisis."
