The Seeker (Dolly Parton Song)
"The Seeker" is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Dolly Parton. It was released as the first single from Parton's 1975 album, '' Dolly'', and was also a top ten single on the U.S. country charts. A spiritual, which Parton described as her "talk with God", the song was released as a single in July 1975, just missing the top spot on the U.S. country singles chart; it peaked at #2. Two decades later, Parton rerecorded the song for her 1995 album '' Something Special''. Nelly Furtado covered this song for the film '' The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mom''. Merle Haggard who, in his 1981 autobiography, ''Sing Me Back Home'', would confess his infatuation with Parton, also recorded the song. The British band The New Seekers The New Seekers were a British pop group, formed in London, in 1969, by Keith Potger, after the break-up of his group, the Seekers. The idea was that the New Seekers would appeal to the same market as the original Seekers, but their music ... The Seeker (The Who Song)
"The Seeker" is a song written by Pete Townshend and performed by English rock band the Who. First released as a non-album single in March 1970, it is included on their 1971 compilation album ''Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy'' and other compilations. Background Around the time of the song's release, Townshend explained its meaning in an interview with ''Rolling Stone'': "I suppose I like this least of all the stuff", wrote Townshend the following year. "It suffered from being the first thing we did after '' Tommy'', and also from being recorded a few too many times. We did it once at my home studio, then at IBC where we normally worked then with Kit Lambert producing. Then Kit had a tooth pulled, breaking his jaw, and we did it ourselves. The results are impressive. It sounded great in the mosquito-ridden swamp I made it up in—Florida at three in the morning drunk out of my brain with Tom Wright and John Wolff. But that's always where the trouble starts, in the swamp. The allig ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

(I Am) The Seeker
"The Seeker" is a song written by ABBA composers Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson towards the end of the group's career. The song was however not recorded by ABBA, but was 'given' by the composers to be included in the 1983 London staging of the originally French musical "Abbacadabra", based on 14 of the group's songs. The lyrics were altered for the show by Don Black and Mike Batt. The song was performed by singer and actor B. A. Robertson, and recorded for the English language cast album. It was used as the B-side to the single "Time". The song was re-recorded by Benny Anderssons Orchestra in 2007 with a new chorus and completely new lyrics, as well as a new title " Upp Till Dig", and was performed by Helen Sjöholm Marie Helen Sjöholm (; born 10 July 1970) is a Swedish singer, actress and musical theatre performer who lives in Gamla Enskede in Stockholm.
