Brother Jacoby, SJ, Major Figure In The Boy Scout Movement In Belize
A brother (: brothers or brethren) is a man or boy who shares one or more parents with another; a male sibling. The female counterpart is a sister. Although the term typically refers to a familial relationship, it is sometimes used endearingly to refer to non-familial relationships. A full brother is a first degree relative. Overview The term ''brother'' comes from the Proto-Indo-European *bʰréh₂tēr, which becomes Latin ''frater'', of the same meaning. Sibling warmth or affection between male siblings has been correlated to some more negative effects. In pairs of brothers, higher sibling warmth is related to more risk taking behaviour, although risk taking behaviour is not related to sibling warmth in any other type of sibling pair. The cause of this phenomenon in which sibling warmth is only correlated with risk taking behaviours in brother pairs still is unclear. This finding does, however, suggest that although sibling conflict is a risk factor for risk taking behaviou ...

Ambergris Caye
Ambergris Caye ( ; Spanish: Cayo Ambergris), is the largest island of Belize, located northeast of the country's mainland, in the Caribbean Sea. It is about long from north to south, and about wide. Many parts of the island have been modified by human development since the arrival of coconut plantations in the 17th century, but it remains largely white coral sand with mangrove forest at its centre. Its eastern coast runs parallel to the northernmost stretch of the Belize Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A Maya community lived on the island in Pre-Columbian times, leaving behind distinctive polished red ceramics. It is widely believed that maritime trade motivated the Mayans themselves to excavate "Boca Bacalar Chico", the marine channel that separates the island from the Mexican mainland, but its origins could also have been natural (e.g. a hurricane). San Pedro Town is the largest settlement and only town on Ambergris Caye. There are also a number of small ...

Coat Of Arms Of Belize
The coat of arms of Belize was adopted upon independence in 1981. It differs only slightly different from the arms used when British Honduras, Belize was a British colony (the Union Jack has been removed, and a Mestizo has replaced one of the Belizean Creole people, Afro-Belizean woodcutters supporting the shield). The wreath around the arms is formed of 50 leaves, symbolizing the year 1950, "when Belizeans began the struggle for independence". Within the wreath is a Swietenia, mahogany tree, in front of which is a shield split per chevron and per pale. The upper sections of the shield show the tools of a woodcutter, while the lower section shows a ship under sail. These are symbolic of the importance of mahogany in the 18th- and 19th-century Economy of Belize, Belizean economy. The motto is ''Sub umbra floreo'' ("Under the shade I flourish"), a reference to the country's forests and to its establishment as a colony under British protection. The flag of Belize features the coat ...

Flag Of Belize
The flag of Belize was adopted on 21 September 1981, the September Celebrations, day Belize became independent. It consists of the coat of arms of Belize on a blue field with red stripes at the top and bottom. British Honduras obtained a coat of arms on 28 January 1907, which formed the basis of the badge used on British ensigns. The coat of arms recalls the logging industry that first led to British settlement there. The figures, tools, and mahogany trees represent this industry. The national motto, ''Sub Umbra Floreo'', meaning "Under the Shade I Flourish", is written in the lower part of the coat of arms. Alongside Malta, Belize is the only sovereign nation to feature a human on its flag. Description The flag is royal blue, with a white disc at the centre containing the Coat of Arms of Belize, national coat of arms held by a mestizo and a man of African descent. The flag of Belize is the only country to have humans depicted as a major design element on its national flag, a ...
