The Road Home (1999 Film)
''The Road Home'' ( zh, t=我的父親母親, l=My Father and Mother) is a 1999 Chinese romantic drama film directed by Zhang Yimou. It also marked the cinematic debut of the Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi. ''The Road Home'' was written by author Bao Shi, who adapted the screenplay from his novel, ''Remembrance''. The film was shot immediately after Zhang Yimou's previous film, ''Not One Less'', and was released to strong reviews in China in fall 1999. Plot ''The Road Home'' is the story of a country girl and a young teacher falling in love, and the teacher's death many years later that brings their son back from the big city for the funeral. The film begins in black and white in 1999 China when Luo Yusheng ( Sun Honglei) returns to his village from the city upon hearing of his father's death. A roar is a type of animal vocalization that is loud, deep and resonating. Many mammals have evolved to produce roars and other roar-like vocals for purposes such as long-distance communication and intimidation. These include various species of big cats, bears, pinnipeds, bovids, deer, elephants and simians. The Anti-Rightist Campaign () in the People's Republic of China, which lasted from 1957 to roughly 1959, was a political campaign to purge alleged " Rightists" within the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the country as a whole.
