The Puppini Sisters
The Puppini Sisters is an English close harmony vocal trio composed of Italian-born singer Marcella Puppini and English singers Kate Mullins and Emma Smith. Although the three are not related, the name was chosen in tribute to the Andrews Sisters. They are known for providing guest vocals on Michael Bublé's cover of "Jingle Bells". Puppini first studied fashion design at Saint Martins School of Art, and later music at Trinity College of Music in London, where she met Mullins and original member Rosanna Schura, who was later replaced by Stephanie O'Brien. After eight years with the group, O'Brien was replaced by Emma Smith. The trio are backed by a three-piece band featuring Martin Kolarides on guitar, Henrik Jensen on double bass and Peter Ibbetson on drums. The group is associated with a burlesque revival. "We Have All the Time in the World" is a James Bond theme song performed by Louis Armstrong. Its music was composed by John Barry and the lyrics by Hal David. It is a secondary musical theme in the 1969 Bond film '' On Her Majesty's Secret Service'', the title theme being the instrumental "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", also composed by Barry and featured on the accompanying soundtrack album. The song title is taken from James Bond (George Lazenby)'s final words in both the novel and the film, spoken after the death of Tracy Bond (Diana Rigg), his wife. As Armstrong was too ill to play his trumpet, it was therefore played by another musician. Barry chose Armstrong because he felt he could "deliver the title line with irony". The song was released as a single in both the US and the UK (under the abridged title "All the Time in the World" in the UK) to coincide with the release of the film in December 1969, but did not chart in either market. Irving Harold Mills (born Isadore Minsky; January 18, 1894 Odessa, Ukraine – April 21, 1985) was a music publisher, musician, lyricist, and jazz promoter. He often used the pseudonyms Goody Goodwin and Joe Primrose. Personal life Mills was born to a Jewish family in Odessa, Russian Empire, although some biographies state that he was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City. His father, Hyman Minsky, was a hatmaker who immigrated from Odessa to the United States with his wife Sofia (''née'' Dudis). Hyman died in 1905, and Irving and his brother, Jacob (1891–1979) worked odd jobs including bussing at restaurants, selling wallpaper, and working in the garment industry. "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)" is a 1931 composition by Duke Ellington with lyrics by Bubber Miley, first published by Irving Mills. Milton Yakus (December 25, 1917 – November 6, 1980) was an American songwriter and producer of popular music. He is best known as the writer of the Patti Page hits " Go On with the Wedding" and "Old Cape Cod" in the mid-1950s. Early life Milton was born in 1917. He trained in audio engineering in the U.S. Navy. Career Milton began as an independent writer, producer and engineer for WMEX (AM), Boston and various New York stations. In 1946, Milton with his younger brother Herbert Yakus founded Ace Recording Studios in Boston, Massachusetts, the premiere recording studio in New England. The studio produced hits by artists such the G-Clefs ("Ka-Ding Dong" in 1955) and Freddy Cannon ("Tallahassee Lassie" in 1959) both from Boston.
