''The Return of Wild Bill'' is a 1940 American Western film directed by Joseph H. Lewis and written by Robert Lee Johnson and Fred Myton. The film stars Wild Bill Elliott, Iris Meredith, George Lloyd, Luana Walters, Edward LeSaint and Frank LaRue. The film was released on June 27, 1940, by Columbia Pictures. It is the fourth and last in Columbia Pictures' series of four "Wild Bill Saunders" films, which began with '' The Taming of the West''. Donald Haines
Donald Haines (May 9, 1919 – February 20, 1943) was an American child actor who had recurring appearances in the '' Our Gang'' short subjects series from 1930 to 1933. He appeared in '' Our Gang'' during the early sound days along with Norman "Chubby" Chaney, Allen "Farina" Hoskins, Jackie Cooper, Matthew "Stymie" Beard, Bobby "Wheezer" Hutchins, and Dorothy DeBorba. Early years Haines was born in Seward County, Nebraska, the son of Karl and Nola Haines. Their family moved to California when he was 9 years old. John Merton
John Merton (born Myrtland F. LaVarre; February 18, 1901 – September 19, 1959) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 250 films between 1927 and 1959, mostly as a villain. He was the brother of filmmakers André de la Varre and William LaVarre, the father of actor Lane Bradford, the grandfather of actress Diane Delano, and the great-uncle of academic Hollis Robbins. Biography Born and raised in Seattle with three other brothers, Franklin, Claude, and William LaVarre, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War I.
