Kraft Television Theatre
''Kraft Television Theatre'' is an American anthology drama television series running from 1947 to 1958. It began May 7, 1947, on NBC, airing at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings until December of that year. It first promoted MacLaren's Imperial Cheese, which was advertised nowhere else. In January 1948, it moved to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, continuing in that timeslot until 1958. Initially produced by the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency, the live hour-long series offered television plays with new stories and new characters each week, in addition to adaptations of such classics as ''A Christmas Carol'' and '' Alice in Wonderland''. The program was broadcast live from Studio 8-H at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, currently the home of ''Saturday Night Live''. Beginning October 1953, ABC added a separate series (also titled ''Kraft Television Theatre''), created to promote Kraft's new Cheez Whiz product. A drama about a family dealing with the daughter's use of LSD, it was written by J. P. Miller and won three Emmy awards for camerawork, best director, and best writer; as well as a nomination for Best Dramatic Program. ''Highway to Heaven'' is an American fantasy drama television series that ran on NBC from September 19, 1984, to August 4, 1989. The series starred its creator and co-director Michael Landon as Jonathan Smith, an angel sent to Earth to help people in need. Victor French, Landon's co-star from his previous television series, ''Little House on the Prairie'', co-starred as Mark Gordon, a retired policeman who travels with and helps Smith with the tasks or "assignments" to which he is referred. Landon directed most of the show's episodes, and French directed many of the remaining ones. It was Landon's third and final TV series and his only one set in the present day, unlike ''Little House on the Prairie'', and Landon's first TV series, ''Bonanza'', both of which were Westerns. ''The People Next Door'' is an American sitcom which aired on CBS from September 18 until October 16, 1989, as part of its Fall 1989 schedule. Synopsis Set in Covington, Ohio, ''The People Next Door'' starred Jeffrey Jones, previously regarded as a character actor, as cartoonist Walter Kellogg, a man whose imagination was so vivid that many of the things which he imagined materialized immediately. TCA Raghavan is a former Indian diplomat who was a 1982 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service. He has considerable experience in South Asia policy issues and considered an expert on Pakistan studies, including heading the Joint Secretary the Division of the Ministry of External Affairs in Pakistan Afghanistan and Iran (PAI) division. From till his retirement on Raghavan was the High Commissioner of India to Pakistan. David John Lodge (28 January 1935 – 1 January 2025) was an English author and critic. He was a literature professor at the University of Birmingham until 1987, and some of his novels satirise academic life, notably the "Campus Trilogy" – ''Changing Places: A Tale of Two Campuses'' (1975), ''Small World: An Academic Romance'' (1984) and ''Nice Work'' (1988).
