''Nextwave'' is a comedy comic book ongoing series, series by Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen, published by Marvel Comics between 2006 and 2007. ''Nextwave'' consistently features extreme violence and comedy, and simultaneously satire, satirizes and celebrates Marvel's superhero comics. The series frequently uses Flashback (narrative), flashback scenes in which existing Marvel characters such as Captain America, Ulysses Bloodstone and the Celestial (comics), Celestials act grossly out of character for comedic purposes. West, who is an author and political scientist, now Director of the Brookings Institution. This book is composed of 9 chapters and its topic is a social change with innovation in digital technology. Next Wave is a biennial festival based in Melbourne, which promotes and showcases the work of young and emerging artists. Next Wave encourages interdisciplinary practice and fosters the creation and presentation of works by emerging artists working across a broad range of art forms, including dance, theatre, visual arts, performance, new media, and literature. Next Wave is also an artist development organisation and in non-festival years, it runs a development program called Kickstart Helix (formerly Kickstart) with the potential of their works being performed in the following year's festival program. The Next Wave Jazz Ensemble is a musical ensemble based at the United States Naval Academy and performing worldwide. The ensemble is a traditional big band.
