''The News Hour with Mark Austin'' is a weekday news programme in the United Kingdom on Sky News, presented by Mark Austin. It combines rolling-news coverage with analysis and interviews on the day's issues. The show airs between 5 pm7 pm Monday to Friday. Broadcasts ''The News Hour'' was the name initially given to the 5pm hour of Sky News only with ''Sky News at Six'' following after, also presented by Austin. As of 2020, the 6 pm hour is branded as the ''News Hour at Six'' The show is broadcast as two distinctive hour long programmes with the days news summarised in each. Mark Austin presents most Monday to Thursday programmes and occasionally hosts the show on Fridays, however, typically Jonathan Samuels presents most Friday editions. Sky Studios (also known as Sky Campus) is the headquarters of satellite broadcaster Sky, and home to much of their programming output. The Isleworth campus consists of nine buildings plus ancillary structures, with three of those buildings containing television studios. The site is also a playout centre for many of Sky's channels. The multiple-camera setup, multiple-camera mode of production, multi-camera or simply multicam is a method of filmmaking and video production. Several cameras—either film or professional video cameras—are employed on the set and simultaneously record or broadcast a scene. It is often contrasted with a single-camera setup, which uses one camera. Description Generally, the two outer cameras shoot close-up shots or "crosses" of the two most active characters on the set at any given time, while the central camera or cameras shoot a wider master shot to capture the overall action and establish the geography of the room. In this way, multiple shots are obtained in a single take without having to start and stop the action. This is more efficient for programs that are to be shown a short time after being shot as it reduces the time spent in film or video editing. Mark Austin (journalist)
Mark William Austin (born 1 November 1958) is an English journalist and television presenter, currently working for ''Sky News''. Austin is best known as the former co-newscaster for the '' ITV Evening News'', alongside Mary Nightingale, and the former co-newscaster of the '' ITV News at Ten'', alongside Julie Etchingham. He also presented the ITV documentary series '' Real Crime'' from 2008 until 2011. From 24 September 2018, he has presented ''The News Hour'' and ''Sky News at 6'' as part of schedule changes on Sky News. Jonathan Samuels
Jonathan Samuels (born 1972) is a British broadcaster and journalist. He co-anchored Sky News Sunrise between 2016 and 2018 and now anchors The News Hour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as News at Ten during weekend periods. He can also be seen elsewhere across the schedule. Previously he held a range of senior correspondent posts for '' Sky News'', the 24-hour television news service, including being based in Sydney from 2011 to 2014. Isabel Webster is a British television presenter and newsreader, who currently co-hosts GB News Breakfast alongside Eamonn Holmes. Until December 2017, Webster co-hosted ''Sunrise'' on Sky News, alongside Stephen Dixon. Early life and education Webster attended St George's College, Weybridge in Surrey before studying Politics and Theology at the University of Bristol, and gained a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism from City University.
