The Master (1980 Film)
''The Master'' (known previously in the United States as ''3 Evil Masters'') is a 1980 martial arts film produced in Hong Kong. It was directed by Lu Chin Ku and produced by the Shaw Brothers Studio. While ''The Master'' was Lu's attempt at kung fu comedy similar to Jackie Chan movies of the time, he continued on to create films with a more fantastical flair. In the story, the three antagonists, each with a certain fight gimmick, defeat Jin Tuan-Yun and take over his kung fu academy. A young student, Gao Jian, nurses Jin back to health, and in return is taught a variety of secret martial art techniques in order to win back the school. Wang Lung-wei (born 1949) is a Hong Kong martial artist, actor, director, producer, and action choreographer, who has starred in over 80 kung fu films, mainly for Shaw Brothers Studios. Wang's first Shaw Brothers film role was as Yu Pi in the 1974 Chang Cheh-directed film '' Shaolin Martial Arts''. This became a pattern, in that he was cast as the villain in the majority of his movies, with ''Martial Club'' being a famous exception. Shaw Brothers (HK) Limited () was the largest film production company in Hong Kong, operating from 1925 to 2011. Aaron Ocosice Phillip (born January 31, 1974), known professionally as Afu-Ra, is an American rapper. A member of the Gang Starr Foundation, he has worked closely with its members, including Gang Starr, Jeru the Damaja, Big Shug and Group Home.
