The Magic Hour (2008 Film)
is a 2008 Japanese comedy film written and directed by Kōki Mitani. This is the fourth film by director Koki Mitani, following ''The Uchōten Hotel''. Set in the fictional port town of Sukago, the film depicts the slapstick that ensues when an unsuccessful actor is turned into a "legendary hit man" by the boss of the town who has his hands on his mistress. A big movie fan, Mitani's comedy is littered with homages to famous scenes from Hollywood classics and Japanese masterpieces. As an example of homage, Eri Fukatsu sings on the crescent moon in the play, which is Woody Allen's ''Sweet and Lowdown'', and the song is ''I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles'', which Sean Penn sang to Samantha Morton. ''Magic Hour'' is the fourth and final studio album by American band Scissor Sisters, released on May 25, 2012, by Polydor Records. The first single from the album was initially " Shady Love" but was later replaced by " Only the Horses", co-produced by recording artist and DJ Calvin Harris, which entered and peaked at number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. ''Chilombo'' is the third studio album by American singer Jhené Aiko. It was released on March 6, 2020, by ArtClub International, ARTium Recordings, and Def Jam Recordings. Following the release of ''Trip'' and her split with rapper Big Sean, with whom she formed the duo Twenty88, Aiko began work on ''Chilombo''. Recorded as a freestyle in Hawaii, the album was inspired by the island's natural landscape and features traditional singing bowls to create a tranquil effect. Steve Allee (born September 14, 1950) is an American jazz musician and composer. Career Allee attended Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was in a band during the early 1970s called the Baron Von Ohlen Quartet which released an album of the same name. By age 19, Allee was touring with the Buddy Rich Orchestra. Allee's big band album, '' Downtown Blues'', was nominated for a Grammy Award and featured bassist John Clayton and drummer John Von Ohlen.
