The Legend Of Yang Guifei
''The Legend of Yang Guifei'', also known as ''The Secret History of Concubine Yang'', is a Chinese television series loosely based on the romance between Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang dynasty and his consort Yang Yuhuan. The series was directed by You Xiaogang and starred Yin Tao and Anthony Wong as the couple. It was first broadcast on Hunan Satellite TV from April to May 2010. Plot Yang Yuhuan became the wife of Li Mao, a prince. Li Mao was the son of Emperor Xuanzong's favorite, Consort Wu. However, Emperor Xuanzong soon falls in love with her, and he takes her as a consort to deal with the death of Consort Wu. After being harmed several times by Consort Mei, Yang Yuhuan rises to the rank of Guifei. She is compared to Zhao Feiyan by her former lover, Li Bai, and she is reminisced by her former husband, Li Mao. Chen Xuanli (陳玄禮) was the General Commander of the Imperial "Longwu Army" (龙武军) during the Chinese Tang dynasty. He was a loyal subject of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang dynasty. Biography Chen Xuanli started as a low officer guard in the palace and then helped Li Longji launch a successful coup, deposing Empress Dowager Wei in 710. After Li Longji took the throne as Emperor Xuanzong, Chen Xuanli was appointed commander of the Imperial Guard and became a trusted confidant of the emperor. Shi Chaoyi () (died before 17 February 763Volume 222 of ''Zizhi Tongjian'' recorded that Shi's head reached Chang'an on the ''jiachen'' day of the 1st month of the 1st year of the ''Guangde'' era of Tang Daizong's reign. Emperor Suzong of Tang (''yihai'' day, 711 – 16 May 762; r. 756 – 762), personal name Li Heng, né Li Sisheng (), known as Li Jun () from 725 to 736, known as Li Yu () from 736 to 738, known briefly as Li Shao () in 738, was an emperor of the Chinese Tang dynasty and the son of Emperor Xuanzong. Empress Wei (; personal name unknown; died July 21, 710) was an empress consort of the Chinese Tang dynasty. She was the second wife of Emperor Zhongzong, who reigned twice, and during his second reign, she tried to emulate the example of her mother-in-law Wu Zetian and seize power.
