The Innocence Of Lizette
''The Innocence of Lizette'' is a 1916 American silent comedy-drama film directed by James Kirkwood and starring Mary Miles Minter. It is one of approximately a dozen of Minter's films which are known to have survived. The film was restored in the Netherlands in 2004 and was shown at several European film festivals along with ''A Dream or Two Ago'', another Minter feature from 1916. Plot As described in film magazines, Lizette (Minter), is a young girl who is left without money or family when her grandfather dies. She is taken in by her grandfather's old landlady, Granny Page, whose nephew Paul runs a news-stand where Lizette sometimes helps out. While working at the news-stand, Lizette catches the attention of two men; Dan Nye, a handsome but dishonest young man, and Henry Faure, an elderly man still mourning the loss of his wife and daughter. Ashton Dearholt (April 4, 1894 – April 27, 1942) was an American actor of the silent film era. He appeared in 75 films between 1915 and 1938. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and died in Los Angeles, California. He was sometimes billed as Richard Holt. Biography Dearholt worked with Universal Studios on a number of melodramas during the 1910s but usually worked outside the studio system, producing and starring in a series of "Pinto Pete" Western during the 1920s. He occasionally acted under the name Richard Holt. He founded Ashton Dearholt Productions in 1924. Ten years later, Dearholt and Edgar Rice Burroughs founded the film production company Burroughs-Tarzan Enterprises when he was filming '' The New Adventures of Tarzan''. Eugenie Forde (June 22, 1879 – September 5, 1940) was an American silent film actress. She starred in 73 films between 1912 and 1927 in films such as ''The Diamond from the Sky'' (1915) and ''Wives and Other Wives'' with actors such as Charlotte Burton and William Garwood. Forde retired from acting in 1924, but a trip to Europe spurred her to return to the profession.
