The Hunting Party (Judge Dredd Story)
''Judge Dredd: The Mega Collection'' is a fortnightly partwork collection of hardback books published by Hachette Partworks. The series is made up of 90 volumes which contain thematic collections of stories about '' 2000 AD''’s Judge Dredd and related characters, as well as bonus material including previously unpublished art. The spine art on the books combine to display a new image by artist Patrick Goddard. The series was also accompanied by the launch of a series of podcasts called '2000 AD Thrill-Casts' which, after the 6th episode, widened its focus to 2000 AD in general. On 5 July 2017 it was officially announced that the series had been extended from 80 to 90 issues. The series is the third recent comics series by Hachette Partworks. Matt Smith (comics Editor)
Matt Smith (born 31 October 1972) is a British editor and author. He is the current and longest-serving Editing, editor of the long-running British science fiction weekly comics anthology magazine ''2000 AD (comics), 2000 AD'' and its sister title the ''Judge Dredd Megazine'' Career Smith joined ''2000 AD'' in 2000, after three years working as a desk editor for Macmillan Publishers, MacMillan, at the time the comic was changing ownership – from Egmont Publishing, Egmont to Rebellion Developments. Origins (Judge Dredd Story)
"Origins" is one of the longest ''Judge Dredd'' storylines to run in the pages of British comic ''2000 AD (comic), 2000 AD''. Making extensive use of Flashback (narrative), flashbacks, it tells the story of how the Judge (2000 AD), Judges of Mega-City One rose to power. It was written by John Wagner and illustrated by Carlos Ezquerra, who between them created ''Judge Dredd'' in 1977. The story ran to 23 episodes and was published from 2006 to 2007 to mark thirty years of the ''Judge Dredd'' strip. It is set in 2129, Dredd's debut story having been set in 2099. John Higgins (comics)
John Higgins (born 1949) is an English comic book artist and writer. He did significant work for '' 2000 AD'', and he has frequently worked with writer Alan Moore, most notably as colourist for '' Watchmen''. Biography John Higgins was born in Walton, Liverpool. After leaving school when he was 15, he joined the army and, on leaving, spent some time in a commune in Wiltshire. He returned to Liverpool and, in 1971, resumed his studies at Wallasey College of Art. There, in 1974 he qualified in technical illustration, which allowed him to get a job as a medical illustrator at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Democracy (Judge Dredd Storyline)
Democracy in the fictional future city of Mega-City One has been a significant recurring theme in the ''Judge Dredd'' comic strip in '' 2000 AD''. In particular, a number of stories published since 1986 have addressed the issue of the Judges' dictatorial system of government, and efforts by the citizens to re-establish democracy. Besides being a notable story arc in itself, the "Democracy" stories also had wider repercussions which led directly to the events depicted in the story "Necropolis". ''Day of Chaos'' is a story featuring science fiction character Judge Dredd, which was published in British comic '' 2000 AD'' in 2011–2012. It has the greatest number of episodes (48) and pages (289) of any Judge Dredd story. Cliff Robinson (artist)
Cliff Robinson is a British comic book artist, probably best known for his cover work on 2000 AD, and contributions to the ''Judge Dredd'' strip. Biography Clifford Robinson was raised in Gorleston-on-Sea, Norfolk, England. Robinson has an extremely precise inking style which is extremely well suited to producing detailed, composed single images for cover art. But his strip work has also been praised highly by, among others, Gordon Rennie. The Cursed Earth (Judge Dredd Story)
"The Cursed Earth" is the second extended storyline of the British science fictional comics character Judge Dredd. It appeared in '' 2000 AD'', and was the first Dredd storyline to exceed twenty episodes. Kev Walker
Kevin Walker is a British comics artist and illustrator, based in Leeds, who worked mainly on '' 2000 AD'' and '' Warhammer'' comics and the collectible card game '' Magic: The Gathering''. He is now working for Marvel Comics.
