The Heart of Racing (also known as Heart of Racing Team, or simply Heart of Racing) is an American auto racing team founded by British racing driver Ian James, American businessman Gabe Newell, and American developer Yahn Bernier. Heart of Racing primarily compete in sports car racing with factory support from Aston Martin. The team races in support of the Seattle Children's hospital in Seattle, Washington. Racing history The name "The Heart of Racing" was initially a campaign launched by Team Seattle in 1997, where in races they would support the Seattle Children's hospital in Seattle, Washington. This campaign has since continued beyond the establishment of the racing team, where they continue to support the cause in every race they participate in. Alex Riberas Bou (born 27 January 1994) is a Spanish racing driver. He currently competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Heart of Racing Team and the FIA World Endurance Championship for Northwest AMR. Career Karting Riberas began karting in Spain in 2007. He became a member of the junior program for Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in 2009. Riberas had moderate success in karting, gaining some race victories. Lechner Racing, formerly known as Walter Lechner Racing is an auto racing team based in Austria. It is also known as the Lechner Racing School. Lechner Racing has established the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East and organizes the series as a subcontractor of Porsche AG. History Sports car racing Walter Lechner Racing competed in the Interserie in the 1990s and developed their own car in conjunction with Reynard Motorsport, the Lechner Spyder SC91. Michael Ammermüller (born 14 February 1986) is a racing driver from Germany. After competing in various junior formulae, he became a test and reserve driver for the Red Bull Racing Formula One team in the 2007 season. Following this, he represented Germany in the final two seasons of the A1 Grand Prix series in 2007-08 and 2008-09, before competing for two seasons in ADAC GT Masters. The 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship was the third season of the United SportsCar Championship and first to be under the name as the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship organized by the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA). Alex Job Racing is a former professional sports car racing team based in the United States. The team, which is noted for its long-time association with Porsche, has competed in the American Le Mans Series, the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge series, and the Rolex Sports Car Series, and fields a two-car effort in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship. Team Seattle
Team Seattle is an endurance auto racing team and charitable organization founded by racing driver Don Kitch, Jr. in 1997 to raise funds for the Seattle Children's Hospital. Team Seattle's drivers and other supporting teams who compete in the 24 Hours of Daytona gain pledges from donors based on the number of laps their cars can complete over the event. Since first entering Daytona in 1997, Team Seattle has raised over $3.3 million for Seattle Children's.
