The Fear Of Fear
''The Fear of Fear'' is the fourth extended play (EP) by Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox. It was released on November 3, 2023, through Pale Chord and Rise Records. It is their first EP to chart, peaking at number 116 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Release "The Void" was released as the lead single on April 19, 2023. The second single, "Jaded", was released on August 25, along with the announcement of the EP. The third single, "Cellar Door", was released on October 13. ''The Fear of Fear'' EP was released on November 3, 2023 through Pale Chord and Rise. On the same day of the EP's release, the band released a music video for the songs, "Ultraviolet" and "Angel Eyes". They also released a music video for the song, "Too Close/Too Late", on November 4. Promotion On May 2, 2023, the band was announced as support for the fall leg of Shinedown's Revolutions Live tour along with Papa Roach. Spiritbox
Spiritbox is a Canadian heavy metal band from Victoria, British Columbia. Husband and wife duo guitarist Mike Stringer and vocalist Courtney LaPlante established Spiritbox in 2017. The band's full lineup comprises LaPlante, Stringer and drummer Zev Rose; former As I Lay Dying bassist Josh Gilbert currently performs live with the band. The band's metal style is difficult to pigeonhole into a specific metal music genre and displays an array of styles that draw from a variety of influences and incorporate electronic elements. Dissatisfaction caused LaPlante and Stringer to leave their former band, Iwrestledabearonce, and they started Spiritbox, seeking artistic freedom. Josh Gilbert (musician)
Josh Gilbert (born March 17, 1981) is an American bassist, vocalist, songwriter and producer, who performs primarily metalcore. He has played with several acts, including As I Lay Dying and Wovenwar. He is also a contributor to ''Alternative Press''. He currently plays bass as a touring member of Spiritbox. Career Gilbert's musical career began with his first band Mothra in Birmingham, Alabama. Shortly after, they changed their name to This Endearing, and sent a demo to Tim Lambesis, frontman of As I Lay Dying. This Endearing disbanded in 2006 and Gilbert went on to join As I Lay Dying. Gilbert was As I Lay Dying's bassist from 2006 until 2014, when Lambesis was arrested. Before Lambesis' arrest, Gilbert performed in two of Lambesis' side-projects, Austrian Death Machine and Pyrithion. Courtney Stringer (née LaPlante, born February 26, 1989) is a singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox. LaPlante began singing in bands as a teenager, but first gained success as the lead singer of the now-defunct metalcore band Iwrestledabearonce. As the successor of the band's original vocalist, LaPlante recorded and performed with the band from 2012 until 2015. She left the group months after the release of her second album with the group, ''Hail Mary'' (2015). In 2016, LaPlante married longtime bandmate Mike Stringer; they have played together in each of LaPlante's bands. ''Eternal Blue'' is the debut studio album by Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox. It was released on September 17, 2021, through the band's own Pale Chord Records in partnership with Rise Records. Work began in 2018 but was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which delayed the album release initially slated for April 2020. Spiritbox relocated to Joshua Tree, California, and completed the songwriting process for the album, which former Volumes guitarist Dan Braunstein and the band's guitarist Mike Stringer produced.
