''The End of the Night'' () is a 1989 Italian crime drama film written and directed by Davide Ferrario, at his directorial debut. It was entered into the main competition at the 1989 San Sebastián International Film Festival. It is loosely based on a crime event happened in Veneto in 1986. Davide Ferrario (born 26 June 1956) is an Italian film director, screenwriter and author. Life and career Born in Casalmaggiore, Cremona, Ferrario graduated in Anglo-American literature, then he began to work in film distribution, and he contributed to import in Italy many indie films by John Sayles, Jim Jarmusch, Susan Seidelman, Godfrey Reggio. He also collaborated as a film critic with the cinema magazine ''Cineforum'', and he wrote a monograph about Rainer Werner Fassbinder. After collaborating on several screenplays, Ferrario made his directorial debut in 1987 with the short film ''Non date da mangiare agli animali'', and in 1989 he directed his first feature film, the neo-noir The End of the Night. Giovanni Lindo Ferretti (born 9 September 1953) is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, and author. He is considered to be one of the founders of Italian punk rock music. Biography Lindo Ferretti was born in Cerreto Alpi (''frazione'' of Collagna), in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the western part of the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. After completing his studies and working as a psychiatric nurse for five years, Ferretti traveled around Europe. CCCP In East Berlin, he met , with whom, in 1982, he founded the band CCCP - Fedeli alla linea ("CCCP - Loyal to the line"). Claudio Bigagli (born 8 December 1955) is an Italian actor. He has appeared in more than 40 films and television shows since 1976.
