The Deers (1974 Film)
''The Deer'' () is a 1974 Iranian drama film directed by Masoud Kimiai. It was among the most acclaimed Persian movies before the Iranian revolution and starred Behrouz Vossoughi, the most famous Iranian male actor at the time. Plot The history of the film is based on the renewal of an old friendship happening in unforeseen and strange circumstances. Sayyid Rasool is a drug addict working small jobs in a theatre to pay for his heavy addiction. One day he is visited by an old friend, Ghodrat, for whom he was a role model and protector when they were teenagers. Ghodrat has just been shot by the police when an armed robbery went wrong and is now looking for a safe place to lie low for a while. Masud Kimiai
Masoud Kimiai or Masoud Kimiaei, (, ) (born 29 July 1941) is an Iranian film director, director, screenwriter and Film producer, producer. Biography Without any academic training in cinema or theater, and with only a few years of experience as assistant director, Kimiai became a historical figure in the Iranian cinema. He learned film making from the movies, and of his early days of contact with the cinema. Kimiai started his career as an assistant director and made his debut, ''Come Stranger'', in 1968. With his second film, ''Qeysar (film), Qeysar'' (also known as Qaiser and Gheisar) (1969), he and Dariush Mehrjui with the film The Cow (1969 film), The Cow, caused a historical change in Iranian film industry as the features that are considered the first films of the "Iranian New Wave". The Cinema Rex fire () happened on 19 August 1978 when the Cinema Rex in Abadan, Iran was set ablaze, killing between 377 and 470 people.
