''The Dead and Dreaming'' is the second full-length album by American metal band Dry Kill Logic. It was released in the United States on October 5, 2004, by Repossession Records. The international version of the album was distributed by SPV. Only one song, "Paper Tiger", was released as a single. In this album, the band takes a different direction, leaving the nu metal sound and changing into metalcore. Dry Kill Logic is an American heavy metal band from Westchester County, New York. Formed in 1995 under the names Hinge and Hinge AD, they have released three albums. History Psychodrama Records (1997–1999) After being together as a band for four years, they recorded and released (under their previous band name, Hinge) their first EP in 1997 titled ''Cause Moshing is Good Fun'' under Psychodrama Records – the band's own label. The band's second EP ''Elemental Evil'' (1999) was once again released through their own label. Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Eddie Wohl
Eddie Wohl is an American composer, music producer, and mixing engineer. As an artist, he was signed to Epic, Elektra and Mercury/Island, and had a production deal with Roadrunner Records. Growing up on the East Coast, Wohl was in his first band at age 15 and signed his first record deal at the age of 25. Wohl's major influences growing up included Black Sabbath, Stevie Wonder, Public Enemy and McCoy Tyner. Coming out of the New York City club/band scene, he has spent many years as a songwriter and producer. In 1999, Wohl, along with his partners, launched the New York-based Scrap 60 Productions, which was responsible for producing acts such as Anthrax, Ill Nino and H2O, among others. Nu metal (sometimes stylized as nü-metal, sometimes called aggro-metal) is a subgenre of that combines elements of heavy metal music with elements of other music genres such as hip hop, alternative rock, funk, industrial, and grunge. George Marino
George Marino (April 15, 1947 – June 4, 2012) was an American mastering engineer known for working on albums by rock bands starting in the late 1960s. Biography Marino was born on April 15, 1947, in the New York City borough The Bronx. He attended Christopher Columbus High School there and learned to play the saxophone and bass fiddle in the high school band and was classically trained on guitar. Marino broke into the music business as a guitarist playing rock and roll in local New York City bands such as The Chancellors and The New Sounds Ltd. until most of the band members were drafted into the service for the war in Vietnam. Rob Caggiano
Robert Caggiano (born November 7, 1976) is an American guitarist and record producer. Since 2013, Caggiano has been the lead guitarist of the rock band Volbeat. He had formerly been guitarist of thrash metal band Anthrax and nu metal band Boiler Room. Career Caggiano's first professional band was Boiler Room that formed in 1996. The band caught the attention of Roadrunner Records after an opening slot for the band Orgy in 1999. Aaron Marsh is an American musician and record producer from Lakeland, Florida. He first gained prominence as the lead singer, guitarist and pianist for the Florida-based indie rock band Copeland, who formed in 2000.
