''The Days of Our Nights'' is the fifth album by American alternative rock band Luna, currently out of print in the United States. It includes a cover of the Guns N' Roses hit "Sweet Child o' Mine". Release The album was recorded as Luna's fifth LP for Elektra Records, a part of the Warner Bros. Records music family. Because of the major label consolidations that occurred in the late 1990s, many alternative rock bands signed to major labels were dropped in this time period, including Luna. In an ironic twist, the album was picked up by Jericho records, a subsidiary of Sire Records, which is also part of the Warner Bros. Records family. It would, however, prove to be the final album by the band to receive major-label distribution. "Sweet Child o' Mine" is a song by American rock band Guns N' Roses. It appears on their debut album, '' Appetite for Destruction''. In the United States, the song was released in June 1988 as the album's third single, topping the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and becoming the band's only US number-one single. In the United Kingdom, the song was released in August 1988, reaching number 24 on the UK Singles Chart the same month. Re-released there in May 1989, it peaked at number six. Trumpet
The trumpet is a brass instrument commonly used in classical and jazz ensembles. The trumpet group ranges from the piccolo trumpet—with the highest register in the brass family—to the bass trumpet, pitched one octave below the standard B or C trumpet. Mellotron
The Mellotron is an electro-mechanical musical instrument developed in Birmingham, England, in 1963. It is played by pressing its keys, each of which pushes a length of magnetic tape against a capstan, which pulls it across a playback head. As the key is released, the tape is retracted by a spring to its initial position. Different portions of the tape can be played to access different sounds. The Mellotron evolved from the similar Chamberlin, but could be mass-produced more efficiently. The first models were designed for the home and contained a variety of sounds, including automatic accompaniments. Bandleader Eric Robinson and television personality David Nixon helped promote the first instruments, and celebrities such as Princess Margaret were early adopters. Dean Wareham (born 1 August 1963) is an American musician and actor who formed the band Galaxie 500 in 1987. He left Galaxie 500 in April 1991 and founded the band Luna. Since Luna's breakup in 2005, Wareham has released albums with fellow Luna bandmate (and wife) Britta Phillips (see Dean and Britta). ''Kill Me Later'' is a 2001 film directed by Dana Lustig and starring Selma Blair and Max Beesley; it also features Brendan Fehr and Keegan Connor Tracy. Synopsis Blair plays Shawn, a loan officer at a bank who is having an affair with the bank’s married vice-president.
