The Corporation (professional Wrestling)
The Corporation was a stable in the late 1990s in the Attitude Era in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE). It was led by the McMahon family and was characterized by an authoritarian and corrupt attitude towards more rebellious wrestlers. The Corporation existed throughout 1998 and 1999 and feuded with Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind, D-Generation X (DX), and The Ministry of Darkness, eventually merging with the latter and forming The Corporate Ministry. Shane Brandon McMahon ( ; born January 15, 1970) is an American businessman and retired Professional wrestling, professional wrestler best known for his tenures in WWE. The son of Vince McMahon, he is a fourth-generation wrestling promoter as a member of the McMahon family. He began working in WWF (World Wrestling Federation, now WWE) at age 15, starting in their warehouse, where he filled merchandise orders. The ''Sharpshooter'', also known as the ''Scorpion Deathlock'' and technically known as the ''sasori-gatame'' (蠍固め or サソリ固め; English: scorpion hold), is a professional wrestling submission hold. Similar to several holds such as the cloverleaf leg-lace, the ''Boston crab'' and the standing reverse figure-four leglock, the move was invented by Karl Gotch, and given to Riki Choshu, one of his students. It was then popularized by Sting and Bret Hart as the Scorpion Deathlock and Sharpshooter respectively. The hold begins with the opponent supine on the mat. The WWE Hardcore Championship was a hardcore wrestling championship in the WWF (Now WWE) which was contested under "hardcore" rules (no disqualifications, no countouts, and pinfalls count anywhere). In the latter part of the title's history, a rule was implemented allowing anyone to challenge the champion at any place or time, provided a referee was present (dubbed the "24/7 rule").
