The Company (stylized as The CompanY) is a Filipino vocal group since 1985. The current members are Moy Ortiz, Annie Quintos, Sweet Plantado and OJ Mariano. History The original members of The CompanY were members of the 1981 and 1983 touring batches of the Ateneo College Glee Club (ACGC). Their musical director, Moy Ortiz, named the group after Stephen Sondheim's musical ''Company''. OJ Mariano
OJ Mariano (born 1979) is a Filipino singer and film/theater actor. He is the second runner-up of the second season of ABS-CBN's reality singing competition ''Star in a Million''. After the competition, he released an album under Star Records entitled ''One Dream Come True''. Awit Awards
The Awit Awards are music awards in the Philippines given annually by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) to recognize the outstanding achievements in the music industry. The word "Awit" means "song" literally in Filipino. The first awards were given in 1969 at a ceremony in Makati. After three awards ceremonies were held, the Awit Awards were discontinued in 1972. In 1988, PARI brought back the awards and today, the organization still handles these awards. History The idea for Awit Awards was conceived by Oskar "Oskee" Salazar, the Billboard correspondent for the Philippines at that time, in late 1968. Gerard Imutan Salonga (born October 11, 1973) is a Filipino musical conductor, composer, and arranger. From 2012 to 2020, he was the music director of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, assistant conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra from 2016 to 2018, and from 2019 to the present the resident conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
