"The Butler Did It (A Bird in the Hand)" is the fifth produced episode (but third broadcast) of the TV series ''Police Squad!'' It was written by Pat Proft and directed by Georg Stanford Brown. After she has blown out the candles on her birthday cake, her boyfriend Kingsley Addison comes to her and asks her to speak with her in private. While they are discussing marriage, a man appears, grabs Terri and knocks out Kingsley. Later at the crime scene, Frank and Ed talk about a ransom note left behind demanding $1 million. When Frank and Ed are questioning Mr. and Mrs. Burton, the kidnapper phones them. Frank orders Norberg to get a tap on the phone, only this doesn't work in time. ''Police Squad!'' is an American television crime comedy series that was broadcast on the ABC network in 1982. It was created by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker, starring Leslie Nielsen as Frank Drebin. "Revenge and Remorse (The Guilty Alibi)" is the fourth episode of the TV series ''Police Squad!''. It was directed by Paul Krasny, written by Nancy Steen and Neil Thompson, and produced by Robert K. Weiss. Plot The episode starts in a courthouse at night. A person (of whom only the feet are visible) enters, moves up to the room of Judge J. Oliver Maxwell, and replaces the normal gavel with a different gavel. When Maxwell uses it the next day at a hearing, it explodes, killing the judge. Lieutenant Frank Drebin drives to the headquarters, where his boss, Captain Ed Hocken, tells Frank that seven recently released criminals were sent to prison by Judge Maxwell, making this a possible revenge killing. The chimpanzee (''Pan troglodytes''), also known as simply the chimp, is a species of great ape native to the forest and savannah of tropical Africa. It has four confirmed subspecies and a fifth proposed subspecies. Pat Proft
Pat Proft is an American comedy writer, actor, and director. Born in Minnesota in 1947, Proft began his career at Dudley Riggs' Brave New Workshop in Minneapolis in the mid 1960s. He went on to perform as a one-man comedy act in the late 1960s. In 1972, Proft began working at The Comedy Store in Hollywood which led to work in television and film writing for the Smothers Brothers and Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker. Of the many feature films Proft has written, ''Wrongfully Accused'', is the only one he also directed. It was released in 1998. Proft continued to work with David Zucker, and in 2013 announced he was working on a parody film with Zucker involving the ''Jason Bourne'' and ''Mission: Impossible'' series.
