''The Black Sheep'' (Spanish: ''La oveja Negra'') is a 1949 Mexican drama film directed by Ismael Rodríguez and starring Fernando Soler, Pedro Infante and Andrés Soler. Mraz p.140 It was shot at the Tepeyac Studios in Mexico City. The film's sets were designed by the art director Carlos Toussaint. It was followed by a sequel '' No desearás la mujer de tu hijo'' in 1950. Ismael Rodríguez
Ismael Rodríguez (October 19, 1917 – August 7, 2004) was a Mexican film director. Rodríguez rose to fame due to the movies he directed starring Pedro Infante, and directed many major stars, including Dolores del Río, María Félix, Toshiro Mifune, Jorge Negrete, Sara García, Luis Aguilar, Tito Guízar, Gloria Marín, Carmelita González, Antonio Aguilar, Columba Domínguez and Flor Silvestre. He directed the film ''Ánimas Trujano (film), Ánimas Trujano'' (1961) for which he was nominated for an Academy Awards, Oscar for Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Best Foreign Language Film. Rodríguez's most renowned international film is ''Tizoc (film), Tizoc'', in which Pedro Infante starred alongside María Félix. For this role, Infante won the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 7th Berlin International Film Festival. He died on 7 August 2004 at the age of 87. Wolf Ruvinskis (October 31, 1921 – November 9, 1999), born Wolf Ruvinskis Manevics, was a Latvian-Mexican actor and professional wrestler. He was married to dancer Armida Herrera. Born to a Latvian mother and a Ukrainian father, of Jewish background, they relocated to Argentina in 1923. In spite of living in extreme poverty he excelled in sports and as a professional wrestler he toured South America, the United States and Mexico. This last country became his place of residence where he stayed in the ring well into the 1960s, wrestling El Santo, Black Shadow, El Médico Asesino and Lobo Negro.
