Food reality television is a genre of reality television programming that considers the production, consumption and/or sociocultural impact of food. Reality food television emerged as a recognisable sub-genre in the 1940s. Historically, food reality television sought to educate viewers on matters of food. Early programmes such as ''Elsie Presents'', ''The Diane Lucas Show'' and ''Cook's Night Out'' imparted 'specific, practical skills' on the viewer, and provided ad-lib commentary on matters of homemaking, home entertaining and motherhood. Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born September 21, 1969) is an American chef, television personality, and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show ''Secrets of a Restaurant Chef'' and co-host of '' Worst Cooks in America''. She was also one of the Iron Chefs, Mario Batali's sous chefs in the ''Iron Chef America'' series and appears on other programs on the network such as '' The Best Thing I Ever Ate''. She was a contestant on the fourth season of The Food Network competition show, ''The Next Iron Chef'' Super Chefs being eliminated in episode 6. Bobby Flay
Robert William Flay (born December 10, 1964), is an American celebrity chef, restaurateur, and reality television personality. Flay is the owner and executive chef of several restaurants and franchises, including Bobby's Burger Palace, Bobby's Burgers, and Amalfi.
