The Beyond (1981 Film)
''The Beyond'' (, lit. "…And you will live in terror! The afterlife") is a 1981 English-language Italian Southern Gothic supernatural horror film directed by Lucio Fulci. It is based on an original story created by Dardano Sacchetti, starring Catriona MacColl and David Warbeck. Its plot follows a woman who inherits a hotel in rural Louisiana that was once the site of a horrific murder, and which may be a gateway to hell. It is the second film in Fulci's Gates of Hell trilogy, ''Gates of Hell'' trilogy after ''City of the Living Dead'' (1980), and was followed by ''The House by the Cemetery'' (1981). Filmed on location in and around New Orleans in late 1980 with assistance from the Louisiana Film Commission, additional photography took place at De Paolis Studios in Rome. Enzo Sciotti
Enzo Sciotti (24 September 1944 – 11 April 2021) was an Italian artist and illustrator. Sciotti was known for his illustrations of more than 3000 movie posters, typically for horror films, including ''The Beyond (1981 film), The Beyond'', ''Demons (1985 film), Demons'', ''The Blood of Heroes'' and several other Lucio Fulci, Dario Argento, and Lamberto Bava films. His father, Emanuele Sciotti, was a church decorator, and many members of the Sciotti family were painters. Warlock
A warlock is a male practitioner of witchcraft. Etymology and terminology The most commonly accepted etymology derives '' warlock'' from the Old English '' wǣrloga'', which meant "breaker of oaths" or "deceiver". The term came to apply specially to the devil around 1000 AD. A cult following is a group of fans who are highly dedicated to a person, idea, object, movement, or work, often an artist, in particular a performing artist, or an artwork in some medium. Noah Cowan
Noah Cowan (July 22, 1967 – January 25, 2023) was a Canadian artistic director, who served as the executive director of SFFILM from March 2014 to May 2019. He oversaw the organization's exhibition, education, and filmmaker services. Before joining SFFILM, Cowan was the artistic director of TIFF Bell Lightbox, and also worked as the co-director of the Toronto International Film Festival from 2004 to 2008. Early career Cowan was raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He attended University of Toronto Schools before studying philosophy at McGill University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1989. Rolling Thunder Pictures was a film distribution company, set up under Miramax Films by Quentin Tarantino, that was headed by Jerry Martinez and Tarantino.
