The Arena (Singapore TV Series)
''The Arena'' is a debate-style television show produced by Channel 5 (Singaporean TV channel), Mediacorp Channel 5 in Singapore. Two seasons of the show were broadcast, with Season one held on January–March 2007, and season two on March–May 2008. The show involves teams of students from secondary schools in Singapore debating against each other on issues of topical interest. The show is hosted by Adrian Pang in the first season, before replaced with Jason Keng-Kwin Chan, Jason Chan in Season two. ''The Arena'' was one of the four nominees for the 2007 International Emmy Award#International Emmys, International Emmy Award in the 'Children and Young People' category, alongside shows from Australia, Brazil and Poland. Nanyang Girls' High School (NYGH) is an independent girls' secondary school in Bukit Timah, Singapore. Founded in 1917, it is one of the oldest schools in the country. The United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA) is an independent international school in Singapore. Jennie Chua Kheng Yeng is a Singaporean businesswoman who is the co-founder of Beeworks, Inc. She was named one of Forbes Asia's "50 Women In the Mix" in 2013. She has been called "Singapore's Grande Dame". Early life and education Chua was born in Batam, Indonesia and raised in the Tanglin area of Singapore. She is the oldest of 12 children. Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School (KCPSS) is a co-educational government-aided christian mission secondary school located in Bishan, Singapore. History In 1924, two Christian ministers, reverends Tay Sek Tin and Tan Leng Tian, founded Katong Girls' School at 1 Joo Chiat Terrace. It had a modest enrolment of 11 pupils, both boys and girls. English and Chinese classes were conducted. By 1925, the school moved to new premises at Koon Seng Road and was named Choon Guan School. In 1934, Margaret Dryburgh was appointed principal. Tan Kheng Hua (born 17 January 1963) is a Singaporean actress. She is best known for her supporting roles in the 2018 Hollywood film ''Crazy Rich Asians'' and in American television network the CW's martial arts television series ''Kung Fu'' (2021–2023).
