The Animals On Tour
''The Animals on Tour'' is the second American studio album by British rock band The Animals. It was released by MGM Records in February 1965 (see 1965 in music). The album included two previously released singles, "I'm Crying" and "Boom Boom" and is mostly made up of leftovers from the British ''The Animals'' album (not included on the American version) and unreleased tracks intended for the British version of ''Animal Tracks''. The album was available in both mono and stereo formats. The songs on the stereo release were all rechanneled, which means that the original songs were mixed in mono and were re-mixed to simulate stereo. Rechanneling often occurred on American releases by British artists. Despite what the title indicates, ''The Animals on Tour'' is not a live album; it is entirely made up of studio recordings. The Animals, currently billed as Eric Burdon & the Animals (featuring original frontman Eric Burdon) and also as Animals & Friends (featuring original drummer John Steel (drummer), John Steel), are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1962. The Animals' original lineup consisted of frontman Eric Burdon, guitarist Hilton Valentine, bass guitarist Chas Chandler, keyboardist Alan Price, and drummer John Steel. Ray Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930 – June 10, 2004) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. He is regarded as one of the most iconic and influential musicians in history, and was often referred to by contemporaries as "The Genius". Mathis James Reed (September 6, 1925 – August 29, 1976) was an American blues musician and songwriter. His particular style of electric blues was popular with a wide variety of audiences. Ahmet Ertegun
Ahmet Ertegun ( ; , ; July 31, 1923 – December 14, 2006) was a Turkish-American businessman, songwriter, record executive and philanthropist. Ertegun was the co-founder and president of Atlantic Records. He discovered and championed many leading rhythm and blues and rock musicians. Ertegun also wrote classic blues and pop songs. He served as the chairman of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and museum, located in Cleveland, Ohio. Mess Around
The "Mess Around" is a song written by Ahmet Ertegun, co-founder and then-vice-president of Atlantic Records, under the pseudonym of A. Nugetre, or "Nuggy". It was performed by Ray Charles, and was one of Charles's first hits. Origins and composition Ertegun claimed his inspiration for writing "Mess Around" was stride pianist Pete Johnson. John Lee Hooker (August 22, 1912 or 1917 – June 21, 2001) was an American blues singer, songwriter, and guitarist.
