The Academy Of Music And Sound
The Academy of Music and Sound is an independent popular music college with centres in five locations in England and Scotland. The Academy delivers instrument specific courses validated by local partner college and Universities. History The Academy of Music and Sound started was founded in 1994 in Torquay by Kevin Harding, initially delivering Music Technology courses and private instrument lessons. A second centre was opened in 2001 in Birmingham, above Europe's then biggest music shop Sound Control. By 2012, the Academy had a national network of 7 centres, based in Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Swindon and Gateshead, delivering training and education to over 800 students and apprentices. As of 2012, The Academy has been a successful first round bidder in the Government's Employer Ownership of Skills programme. Torquay
Torquay ( ) is a seaside town in Devon, England, part of the unitary authority area of Torbay. It lies south of the county town of Exeter and east-north-east of Plymouth, on the north of Tor Bay, adjoining the neighbouring town of Paignton on the west of the bay and across from the fishing port of Brixham. In 2011 the built-up area of Torquay had a population of 65,245. Electronic Drums
Electronic drums are a modern electronic musical instrument, primarily designed to serve as an alternative to an acoustic drum kit. Electronic drums consist of an electronic sound module which produces the synthesized or sampled percussion sounds and a set of ''pads'', usually constructed in a shape to resemble drums and cymbals, which are equipped with electronic sensors to send an electronic signal to the sound module which outputs a sound. Eric Patrick Clapton (born 1945) is an English Rock music, rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is regarded as one of the most successful and influential guitarists in rock music. Albert Lee
Albert William Lee (born 21 December 1943) is an English guitarist known for his fingerstyle and hybrid picking technique. Lee has worked, both in the studio and on tour, with many famous musicians from a wide range of genres. He has also maintained a solo career and is a noted composer and musical director. Early life Lee was born in Lingen, Herefordshire, but grew up in Blackheath, London, a member of a Romani family. The Vamps are a British pop band consisting of Bradley Simpson, James Brittain-McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans. They formed in 2012 and signed to Mercury Records (now Virgin EMI Records) in the November of the same year. "Don't Go" is a single from British rapper Wretch 32 that appears on his début album ''Black and White'' and features vocals from English singer Josh Kumra. The single was released in the United Kingdom as a digital download on 14 August 2011. The single peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart upon entry in August 2011, becoming Wretch 32's first chart topping song. Josh Kumra (born 20 April 1991) is an English singer and songwriter. In 2011, Kumra co-wrote and provided vocals for English rapper Wretch 32's highest-charting single to date, " Don't Go", which reached number one in the UK Singles Chart. Biography Kumra grew up in a family home in Swindon, Wiltshire. Kumra is one-quarter Indian (his grandfather was from New Delhi) and started playing the guitar 12 years old, which naturally led to him teaching himself to sing. Hawkwind
Hawkwind are an English rock band known as one of the earliest space rock groups. Since their formation in November 1969, Hawkwind have gone through many incarnations and have incorporated many different styles into their music, including hard rock, progressive rock and psychedelic rock.
