''Thalictrum dasycarpum'', known as tall meadow rue and purple meadow-rue, is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. It is native to North America. Description Tall meadow rue is an herbaceous flowering plant with an erect habit, growing between tall. The leaves are compound, usually with 3 leaflets, though occasionally 5. Each leaflet is shallowly lobed with between 2 and 5 lobes, with otherwise smooth margins. The leaves are somewhat leathery with prominent veins. The leaf underside is usually pubescent, but occasionally hairless. Each flowerhead comprises many flowers, borne in panicles, and is roughly pyramid in outline. Friedrich Ernst Ludwig Von Fischer
Friedrich Ernst Ludwig Fischer (20 February 1782, Halberstadt – 17 June 1854) was a Russian botanist, born in Germany. He was director of the St Petersburg botanical garden from 1823 to 1850. In 1804 he obtained his medical doctorate from the University of Halle, afterwards working as director of Count Razumoffsky's botanical garden in Gorenki (near Moscow). In 1808 he produced a catalogue of plants of the garden. In 1823 he was appointed director of the imperial botanical garden in St. Petersburg by Alexander I. Here, he was involved with establishing a herbarium and library, as well as the planning of numerous scientific expeditions into the interior of Russia. During his final years, he served as a medical councillor for the Ministry of the Interior. In 1815, he was elected a corresponding member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Carl Anton von Meyer (in Russian: Карл Анто́нович фон Ме́йер, ''Karl Antonovich von Meyer'') (1 April 1795 – 24 February 1855) was a German, Russified botanist and explorer. Meyer was born in Vitebsk. He received his education at the University of Dorpat (1813-14) as a student of Karl Friedrich von Ledebour, with whom he later embarked on a scientific journey to the Crimea (1818). In 1826, with Ledebour and Alexander G. von Bunge, he took part in an expedition to the Altay Mountains and the Kirghiz Steppe ( Kazakhstan). Julius Léopold Eduard Avé-Lallemant (4 July 1803 – 17 May 1867) was a German botanist who was a native of Lübeck. From 1838 to 1855 he performed his scientific work in St. Petersburg. Botanists Friedrich Ernst Ludwig von Fischer (1782–1854) and Carl Anton von Meyer (1795–1855) named the plant genus ''Lallemantia'' from the family Lamiaceae in his honor. Avé-Lallemant was the author of ''De plantis quibusdam Italiae borealis et Germaniae australis rarioribus'' (1829). He was also an entomologist.
